Not a cheap car, but a car that was cheap to run. 2002 Accord four-cylinder 5-spd manual. Paid $19k for it new, then drove it for 19 years. 34-35mpg, worst mpg was 29mpg in subzero commute, best was 39mpg driving 80mph down OK turnpike and I-35, loaded with luggage and A/C cranked up.

Technically, glass is a liquid. It just has a really high viscosity.

LED lights stuck into headlight housings meant for halogen bulbs.

Now playing

And skinny tired are better than fat tires

Then why not get rid of the Chicken Tax?

Ram once said, when asked why they don’t have a mid-size truck, that the Classic fills that niche. I guess they are thinking the mid-size truck should be an entry-level truck? I wholeheartedly disagree.

The Hemi is going away because it does not meet 2025 emissions standards.  They've known about this for years.

Most any Ford.

The biggest turn-off on the Ford trucks, for me, is that the interior looks like it was put together with Lego blocks.  This Frontier is getting dangerously close to that....

But if we all drove EVs instead of ICEVs, we wouldn’t get to waste time arguing about the best oil, the best gas grades, transmissions, transaxles, rear diffs, best gear to be in, best gas-saving doodads, best oil filter, best intake air filter, best exhaust, best spark plugs, best cylinder deactivation defeat

The wheels look like they came off my '78 Mercury Zephyr, and then plasti-dipped in black.

Ford got what it wanted. In most people’s minds, it is still a truck you can get for $20k, even though they will pay over $30k for it. Some fools will even pay $40k for one.

I will believe it when i see it, as pertaining to duty-free pickup trucks from Korea. I can see sedans and SUVs not being an issue, but i bet the Big3 will squeal like pigs under a gate if any pickups get shipped in from overseas.

Yeah, i was thinking late-80s F150....

I’m all for saving the environment, but if you push too hard too fast, there’s going to be a commensurate amount of pushback, which leads to all kinds of fake news. Just look at all the idiots who believe the government will take away their ICE by 2035, and that climate change is a conspiracy.

I hope they can fix that front end.... it looks like it ran into a wall already.

Next year, there will be a ban on all EV sales except for EVs made in Texas.

My impression of Toyota trucks is that each new generstion has taken one step forward and two steps back. IOW, they seem to get worse with each generation. I would much rather have Marty McFly’s Toyota truck than a new gen4 Tacoma.

It seems to me that these would be popping up in things like R/C aircraft (and drones), EDC flashlights, power tools and phone charger packs, where battery weight can be even more crucial. Since we are talking huge numbers of units here with smaller and cheaper gadgets, price can come down quicker and R&D improve much
