That 2.8L diesel is the same VM Motori engine design used in the Jeep Liberty back in the 00's. GM changed the emissions package on it, dialed up the power a little more, and called it a Baby Duramax.

What?  Nobody said Bronco or Maverick??  Well, I guess the jury is still out on both of those...

At least it’s not a $30k market adjustment like I saw for a Bronco on the interwebz.

I’m just sayin’... learning to ride a dirt bike will be way cheaper, way more fulfilling, and 100x more effective on the worst trails.

They just need to take his truck away, permanently.

Is the bed really only 2 inches longer than the Santa Cruz?

I think it makes the truck look longer and leaner, less fat.

I prefer cloth over leather, but it has to be high-quality cloth. Cloth is warmer in winter and cooler in summer. With leather, you almost have to have heated/ventilated seats to be comfortable. Problem is, it is difficult to get nice cloth seats anymore, especially in higher-trim vehicles.

AND you can't update the infotainment to a better third-party unit because they designed many vehicle controls and settings into the infotainment system.  Want to change how your door locks?  Change in the settings.  Want to change your dash display? Change in the settings.  Etc.

They probably had "tank turn" enabled.  There was a recent Motor Trend article on the hazards of "tank turn" and how it won't be available to consumers for the time being.

ANY weird Honda.

I like it!

I-9 does have a nice ring to it. But let’s do it with performance engines, like maybe three Speed Triples mounted inline, and keep it here in the U.S.!

I’m not sure how well those tracks would hold up in the sand. But I guess if you have a lot of mechanics at your disposal...

Ever watch ‘Duck Dynasty’?

My point was that, when you’re in the middle of a curve on a twisty mountain road with a stick, YOU get to decide whether you want the car screaming at 6000rpm, or loafing at 2500rpm. Can’t do this with a CVT. This is largely why CVTs haven’t been too successful on motorcycles - you don't always want the powertrain

I feel like they shift the 6-spd at redline in those MPG tests, ‘cuz vtec, yo! IRL, i bet you could make that stick do better than the CVT.

Yeah, I think the issue is that many who tow nice boats like to have a flashy rig to show off with it. Some even color-coordinate their truck and boat. Using such a truck for dirty work would be sacrilegious.

Well, yeah. This is how GM tanked diesels in the 80s, with their 5.7L diesel V8 abomination. It took Dodge (remember them?) and VW to make diesels cool again, and then they both tanked the diesels again with emissions scandals. This is why we can’t have good things.

I was over on the truck/trailer forums on thehulltruth.com a while back, and a lot of half-ton owners were aghast that someone would “ruin their truck bed” by dumping a load of gravel in it. I had to read it several times to make sure I wasn’t missing something.
