They would’ve trotted her out by now just for a photo op, I would think. Like Kate Middleton after she gave birth, kinda thing.

you guys, this totally isnt the place for it, but there’s no social tonight and i dont know if there will be a dirtbag but i think that i might have to put my cat down tomorrow and im just not ready for it(are you ever?) she hasnt been herself so i took her to the vet friday, which was a disaster because she

If that were really the case, then why not come out with it. It might generate actual sympathy.

Idk why this made me laugh so hard..

Sweet jeebus, that was the whiniest whine fest I’ve ever read. “Eight months in Bali, CELIBATE!”. Oh, quelle fucking HORROR. How DID she survive?

I’ve been getting into mysteries lately and two authors I am really enjoying are Tana French and Laura Lippman. I can think of one dramatic exception, but mostly women mystery writers tend not to relish scenes of violence against women quiiiiite so much as the male writers do, even the avowed feminists among them.

I know that at this point, nothing should surprise me but this is some top level weirdness.

And presents suicide as a way to punish others.

I think the worst thing is that this show reinforces the myth that if you commit suicide “They’ll be sorry when I’m gone.”

But the thing is that the VAST majority of suicides do occur because of mental illness. And suicidal ideation is a very common symptom of depression. I don’t see how it is helpful to put forth the idea that suicide is a great way to get back at people who hurt you or that your actions would cause someone’s suicide.

Can we just take a moment to address how clay is the literal worst? He makes everything about him and I hated how the show rewarded that. “You’re so brave, Clay” says every character ever. What did he do that was brave (pre shooting bs)? Why is he moping bc she had sex with other people?

I don’t think Gilbert is strong enough to carry a show... she’s had not real acting career aside from Rosanne.

My pitch for a final “very special” episode: Roseanne had her knee surgery discussed in the finale of the reboot, but got addicted to her pain-killers. We return next year to see the rest of the family arriving home. They have just returned from dropping Roseanne off at a rehab center. While discussing the trip, they

Here is my pitch. After years of living a life of hell with Rosanne, Dan finally realizes this is not the life he wants. More so he realizes that he has been living a lie his whole life about who he really is inside. The shock of his announcement gives Roseanne a stroke/heart attack/cancer-aids and dies of screen.

I watched both seasons, despite feeling the first season glamorized suicide as vengeance and never explained that Hannah made the wrong choice.

I don’t watch the show. I do spend a lot of time with my kids, and have conversations with them on a range of issues, including difficult and uncomfortable ones.

Two things that infuriated me about this season:

The problem I have with the show is that they took the time to consult with experts on how to depict teen suicide in a way that’s effective, responsible, and is unlikely to provoke dangerous behavior in teens. They, they ignored that advice and did things they were explicitly told could cause young people to harm

I hate this show with a firey passion and I wish there was a way to set our Netflix so that my teens can’t watch it. Actually—is there a way to disable a particular show on Netflix? I know there are parental controls, but I don’t mind my teens watching a lot of “mature” shows. This one just hits really close to home

I’m a social worker and I watched both seasons.
