I visited the Anne Frank house right before the election and it was pretty sobering. At the end of the tour there’s a video interviewing people who survived the Holocaust and I remember one person saying how no one thought it would happen then and no one thinks it can happen again, but it can.

It is so important to keep her memory alive. Putting a human face on such immense and unimaginable tragedy will hopefully help all of us never forget.

It’s awful that once again we have the cops being called over some bullshit, but it’s heartening to see the cops—cops in the South, no less—actually taking the side of the person they’re supposed to take the side of, not to mention shutting down the asshole who wasted everyone’s time. I feel a kinship with this girl. I have a pretty toxic family and a horrible sister in particular. I opted not to have anyone walk with me when I got married, and my dad was SO pissed. Although he told me through third parties because that’s part of how his toxicity works. He hadn’t been in my life much in 15 years.

Honestly, I doubt she was that keen on her father attending in the first place. From what I’ve read, she doesn’t have much of a relationship with him at all and doesn’t really see him and her mother is the parent she’s close to. I doubt they’re trying to convince him to come and I doubt she and Harry are ‘devastated’.
