I think the reason for so many lanes is due to the fact that China, and some other countries, has military parades, we’ve all seen the pictures of huge numbers of soldiers in military dress marching down endless pavement. The 30-50-20 lanes is plenty for parading several planes and tanks and other military vehicles…
