Wouldn't be the first Russian monster to be our ally. Remember Uncle Joe? Hell the list of American allies who are "monsters" is longer than any of us care to admit or truly even know. The world if very fucked up place.

Oh I agree with that. Especially that stuff about underage prostitution. Was that necessary? Is that something the Russian government is really involved in? I don't agree with Trump on much but I do believe Russia should be our allies now more than they actually are. Hope this episode doesn't piss off Putin too…
Whatever happens in Season Six, I think we can be pretty sure of a couple things. Whatever hat Carrie wears, whoever signs her paychecks, she's going to be out there saving the world because that is the central theme of the series. The second thing is that which ties Carrie's character development and current events…
So what really "killed it" for Jonas? It was Carrie telling him he was a lousy lay of course. Message to all the woman out there. If you want your man back, don't ever tell him that. Even if it's true. Especially if it's true!
As you point out, in some ways Quinn needed Carrie. But it wasn't reciprocal. At all.
I didn't say workplace romances are inherently doomed. Some can be downright awesome. I had one in NYC that last two years, lived together and everything. But that one was a go the first minute we met. That's how you know.
It can be pretty awkward but that stuff goes on all the time on the job. Mine happened the night of my "going away party" so it wasn't so bad.
I think a lot of us saw the whole Carrie-Otto thing coming. It didn't make it less creepy though. I think the writers should been more fully invested in the "eww factor." Otto should have made a move on Carrie while on the couch. Perhaps some Wagner in the background.
The "False Glimmer" is Carrie and Quinn. It's almost the writers trolling us because they really never wanted them together, only the fans did. Carrie and Quinn was one of those romances of office convenience. Well it would have been if they had ever really played it out and the somewhat tepid kiss in last…
Yep.
I think most people are reading the final scene, the light coming through the window, as some message to Carrie. The light isn't about Carrie. It's about Peter.
I used to think, a few seasons ago, that Homeland was about Carrie and Saul but that's not the case. They haven't been on the same team now for two seasons. And when circumstances bring them together, the writers tear them logistically, emotionally and now even intellectually (the new paradigm) apart.
I agree with Joshua on this point. Homeland is about Carrie. For a couple of seasons it was about Brody and Carrie. Some felt it should be about Carrie and Saul. Some wanted it to be about Carrie and Quinn. But it's really only about Carrie and I'm down with that.
I feel exactly the same way for the same reasons. Go back and watch Season One finale. Now that was totally amazing, especially the last scene. But overall, Season Two was better.
I thought it was a great season, but for me, this finale was not as emotionally powerful as the Season One finale.
The problem is why weren't any of the characters worried about Quinn's safety and whereabouts? Well maybe Astrid was. Saul? Dar? Carrie was more interested in Jonas. Well, now she's worried so I guess that makes it ok.
Hey, thanks! le Carre is pretty cool.
I guess that's the only play really. Have the CIA put Allison and Ivan back out there, make her a triple agent and him a double agent (now I'm confused). But I don't see how the CIA can trust Allison again. For her, it's jail or file room.
One thing I do like though, a couple weeks ago Dar and Saul were in each other's face, I mean literally. Now they are bros again. That's professionalism!
He can't go back to Russia now. He's a traitor. He's given up state secrets. He gave up his whole life to keep Allison out of jail. I just don't see what is in it for him.
