The harping on the polygraph is totally beyond me. What you’d do in a trial is have the technician lay foundation for the polygraph. The technician would be an expert witness... the republicans declined to hear that evidence. It literally makes no sense. They’re questioning the veracity of the polygraph while also…

I'd still say it's more likely that he's confirmed, but I think it's a huge shift in the last few weeks. It's possible guys like Flake and Corker sink it, both because Flake had been pretty outspoken, but I'm sure the opportunity to give Trump a big f-u on the way out would help.

I’ve pondered this question myself heavily the last few days. The only answer I can come up with is that they desperately need Trump to be found innocent, or have a judge give him that blank check to hold back all the evidence and railroad any investigations into oblivion.

It’s their fear of standing up to Trump. Anyone who does got primaried or is retiring. They have to kiss his massive fat ass or they lose their jobs, it’s insane how much control he has on them. Turtle Boy said from day one that Kavanaugh was a bad choice, but nope, since Trump went with it, he has to support it.

How many more days until the appointee can’t serve in the Fall Term? If that date passes the nomination should be kept open for the new Senate to take care of.
