Wasn't the Multiverse collapse caused by 616 abusing Time Travel? Maybe I'm mis-remembering.

I heard a lady repeatedly yell "Keep smiling!" at the Chicago Marathon on Sunday.

I know it's technically YA, but I really enjoyed Railsea. It contains just enough Mievilleisms that it would help familiarize someone to his style (and how he uses language) in a more welcoming format.

Well, it happened to Alan Scott's boyfriend (as he proposed to him), if gay fridgings count.

That Spider-Gwen costume is going to be a cosplay hit for the rest of time. It's an iconic design.

The setup for Secret Wars was, by business necessity, forced and awkward. BUT, Hickman has been building to this and seems to be heading toward a more natural execution of the concept.

I was also leaning towards his first performance, "Black or White" which he performed days after pictures of him in drag were spread around the media. Crazy to think how that was treated as a scandal at the time.

Now playing

It's definitely not scifi/fantasy, and not "subversive" in the way it's described above, but this was WILDLY subversive for a show with a very conservative, southern-heavy core audience. And this was back in 2009, before marriage equality and same sex issues had momentum like they do today.

I kind of hope that after the 3s in these series that they stop numbering, and go for subtitles. Like Avengers: Age of Ultron instead of Avengers 2.

I think the problem I'm having is that since the enemies are the exact same color as allies, everyone just kind of blends together. A dash of color would go a long way.

I also like that they've set up a dichotomy between Batman and Superman, in that Superman operated VERY publicly when he showed up, made a huge scene, and a city ended up decimated. Batman, on the other hand, has apparently been operating discretely, in the shadows for a much longer time.

Dark works when it stretches heroes to the edge like Hickman's Avengers/New Avengers runs are doing.

Why do this when they could just say: "Oh, that World Engine that fucked up earth's gravity and mass by shooting [science-blahblahblah] through the planet in the Indian Ocean really messed up Atlantis?"
