Thank you! This is such a great response! I didn’t see anyone saying anything about the resources/effort to actually *do* the thing. And it would for sure add scope to the development to make a good easy mode experience, otherwise something like, just make the enemies do half damage and have half health, why not just

So far my experience is that there *is* some magic item you're missing out on or not using on most of the fights if it's crushingly difficult, like a helper on the drunk guy or fire on an ogre.  The eavesdrops are almost always hinting at these things
