Correct.
Well, I don't know about improved, but it certainly one-upped both films mentioned. No place else to go from the anal antics, really. :)
Fair enough. Probably a bit below him these days, unless he could work a Hobbit into it somehow. He left his low-budget splatter roots behind with Braindead in 1992. The Frighteners just doesn't count.
he already basically directed an episode. The second one. The morgue scene came basically straight out of Dead Alive.
Anybody else notice that the colon beast/anal insertion were hugely influenced by Braindead (aka Dead Alive) by Pete Jackson? There was a side salad of Re-animator thrown in there too. Fucking brilliant episode, and series in general.
Watch Dead Alive by Pete Jackson to see where the whole inspiration for the colon beast/anus insertion came from.
No deadites, or anuses, were harmed during the making of this production.
John Lennon is back from the grave and ready to party! I hope more punk books and films come out. It's absolutely the most single under-represented and under-documented movement in the history of music. There can never be enough or too much of this stuff.
On a lighter note:
That just literally made me laugh out loud. SUPERB film. Not seen it in years, need to revisit it.
"Birth is always painful."
Excellent interview, fun and open and friendly. Crampton is always a cool read. Have to say though, Rob Zombie disgusts me. Any man that would erect a Halloween haunted house with a 'scary' John Wayne Gacy section less than 15 miles from where Gacy buried his real-life victims…is an insensitive piece of shit who…
"Shot fulla lead and he still ain't dead!"
"I'm gonna let 'em know…that DOLEMITE IS MY NAME, AND FUCKIN' UP MOTHERFUCKERS IS MY GAME!"
"Bitch, are you for real??!!" :)
The line about kicking his own ass twice a day belongs to the Hamburger Pimp. A classic character. :)
