Do your thing man - get money.
Do your thing man - get money.
I love herb and even I wouldn't pay for that fucking weed logo on Steam. And trust me - I've thought about it. But for what people ask for it? Hell no.
I would argue the happiness is fleeting. Happiness in an achievement that is purely for ego? For that mental need to have it - even when you didn't EARN it? And it's not even really earning anything...you were just a consumer who got a little gold star - and while a fun idea for what it means - it loses its meaning…
Not at all. But I am a fan of tangible goods. A physical collection. Digital collections I am fine with when they are meaningful - photos, games, e-books, whatever. But achievements? I've never cared about them. If I get one - cool - if not - no worries - it isn't what makes gaming for me.
This. This so fucking hard. If buying an achievement for $30 fucking dollars brings you joy, then you need to sell your Xbox immediately and go read a fucking book for some perspective.
What the other guy said. You can keep living in an imaginary dream world where every decision isn't stupid - but for me, it is pretty clear when things are stupid. You can try to philosophize your way out of it - but I think anyone with a modicum of logic would see the inherent issue here.
Whenever I waste money on something I know I shouldn't have I feel stupid. The ability to reflect on your decisions and see the inherent flaws in your logic is important to improving yourself as a person.
This is a great explanation of why I think this is so stupid. But of course...OF COURSE people felt the need to justify this shit to me. I just don't get people on here man.
Haha thanks for the tips. I'll definitely be on the lookout!
Yeah I get all that. But if I knew someone personally who bought that off Ebay I would give them a lot of shit for it because that's just how I roll.
It should've been clear from the onset that what I said was my opinion. Unfortunately, the butthurt brigade came out in droves and I had to further explain my position a handful of different ways.
Dude I get it. And moreover, I honestly am not angry at this - just more flabbergasted. I guess if anything, I am more angry at the people selling it - they are taking advantage of people who were not lucky enough to grab a Day One Edition - and they are showing a huge lack of appreciation for the platform and what is…
Haha okay buddy. I'm not debating the merits of my purchases - I'm sure I've wasted a few bucks here and there. But in this respect - a digital representation (achievement) of the fact you bought an Xbox One Day One Edition - to buy THAT when you didn't even get the fucking Day One and call it your own and feel some…
I think you are completely wrong on this one. I have 30 bucks and wouldn't dare spend it on an achievement with no real fucking value. You are assuming that my perception is based on an ability to purchase - you are sorely mistaken.
Lot of assumptions there buddy. Also, a lot of fallacies.
Unfortunately, we don't all have the same rights and they aren't inviolable - I see people's rights getting infringed upon and trampled all the time. So naw...that pretty picture you paint doesn't exist and doesn't make this something to appreciate. Ignorance is bliss for some I guess.
You used a hashtag so you are immediately a tool.
That is a pretty awesome feature!
