I’m in the process of finishing building my first dedicated emulator PC. It has been a really fun project. I did build a great little raspberry pi based system but it did not really have the power to do EVERYTHING I wanted. So I gifted it to the youngins.

I miss pre-shovelware Steam. I love indies but when they let the flood gates open it let in a lot more shit than it did gold.

I can’t tell if that is sarcasm. There is no way the number one reason people buy physical over digital is so it will look good on their shelf. The number one reason is more likely to be the fact they “own” the game and can give it away, sell it, bring it to a friends house and not need to rely on a digital…

I plan to go pure digital. But Nintendo is still very much a physical media empire. Most people will go physical. Which is fine. But needless waste is needless waste. A smaller package could still be attractive and accomplish the same thing.

So...much...waste. All that packaging for a tiny card and an insert. I mean the PS4 and Xbone have a lot of waste too but at least those are discs. All this so it will look good on a shelf when any number of creative displays would achieve the same thing.

Skipping half the content is not finishing a game in my book. Who plays an RPG without doing sidequests and extra activities? Makes no sense to me.
