Interesting — I didn't know that news sites would do that, send stories via FB, etc. (I guess I'm betraying my age.) I tend to visit news sites from my browser tabs, as time permits, during the day, as opposed to having news pushed on me. Probably a legacy from the pre-social media days that I've never evolved out

The surprising bit of info — to me — was the concept that people "get news" from social media — particularly Facebook. That article they linked about news use on social media platforms is damning. 64%? Really? I can't fathom who would think this is a good way to discover news. That's scary.
I don't have much

I had blocked that one out, but yes, you are right. Still, on average, a way better track record, wouldn't you say?

I think one of the reasons the Ninjago sets do so well — apart from the appeal of ninjas and dragons — is that the design for the sets are so much more interesting than 1) the typical tie-in to other media and 2) they have articulated dragons! (And other crytpozoological animals.)
When many of the other themed LEGOs

Hmm. I wonder if my prepurchasing of Season Two will include these bonus episodes. Fingers Crossed!

It's my favorite way to win at Civilization V — cultural dominance. Slow and steady, make everyone else envy your culture and want to join you.
(Not terribly relevant to the main topic, but that's where my mind went after your post.)

I thankfully did not have any knowledge about how Slott messed with Spider-Man, so I was mostly sold on the trippy art. These Silver Surfer stories are wildly inventive, visually and (somewhat) story-wise, too. The wonder, awe, and weirdness of space exploration is my favorite part, and reminds me of the wild

Just got sad thinking about not seeing Annihilus on the big screen. I love him - one of my favorite Marvel villains. Annihilation — or any adventures in the Negative Zone — could be a visual feast.
Then again, they can't seem to get any FF things right, so maybe that's for the best.

Oops. yeah, that is weird. Should have been tamper. But it does kinda still work, I agree.

I love this series. I would be really excited about a live film adaptation, but . . .
The things I really love about the comic are all things I expect to be whitewashed for a Disney film. The Turkish lieutenant is really the protagonist; the setting is exotic but never "other." Delilah is a (great) agent of chaos,

Yes, same here. Especially when I realized that in both groups, the goal was to be recognized as a "happily married " couple that got to spend time in the city. This made the whole thing even more bleak and disturbing. And yet I was unhappy when it ended. I wanted more.

I am bummed I only now found this out after starting in on my 2nd Manhattan. Maybe I can downshift to box wine for dessert?

I suppose this could represent the "encroaching power of the next generation", except — as in most cases of social media — it wouldn't interest me to follow/read this at all, so it's power on me is very minimal. Maybe if I was a social anthropologist, studying an emerging culture", I would find this interesting.
Instea

Before reading the article or comments, I am expecting some good snark down here. That title alone is priceless. Don't let me down, AV Club commentariat!

I am pretty sure I'm not the sexy target Radiohead appeals to. But if there are folks out there that pick up on that, it would speak to their enduring popularity.
If it isn't clear, I'm only appreciating them in a non-sexual way. Or, more importantly, since I think too much already, sexy = not thinking. Others

Sexy is always subjective. Thom does nothing for me in that regard. Too self absorbed. I am like him enough already — except the talent — so that would be very uninteresting to me, sexually.
Most of the reason I enjoy Radiohead is that I can relate to it, and find it stimulates my thoughts. Just not sexual ones.

Thanks — will scout around.

Maybe Radiohead doesn't make you think, but I do believe that this is what drives their fan base. They want music to analyze, mull over, not music for dancing or activating the lizard brain. Perhaps you are saying I might like Deerhoof when I am in the mood for music to think about? I will have to give it a shot.

You've said this so well — thank you. Radiohead these days is really for people who like to actively listen and think about music. But sometimes I want music that moves the body, and these days, that's not what Radiohead is making.

I agree. Maybe I am lying to myself about my immunity to marketing, but I am not dumb enough to be so easily manipulated. Also, whenever I am in Netflix, I am looking for something specific- which they've hidden in stupid places - or I check out new releases/recently added for something I have heard of/read about
