I want to second Dennis’ observation about the actors and how they behave/act older and weary. I may indeed be just tricked by really good make-up, but the way everyone moves, speaks and carries themselves really makes me believe that they are indeed older (and maybe wiser — even Floki doesn’t blurt out whatever is

My pick would be The Sandman. Though I’ve seen many great answers on the boards today, The Sandman is the one that I personally have read the most often/get the most out of that addresses change in so many ways. From the obvious ways that stories evolve and morph into other people’s stories; from characters that

I too am looking forward to more of the show — despite the fact that it left me very emotionally raw/teary. (That doesn’t happen often for me — maybe that’s why I “liked” it.) But now that you mention it, I can’t imagine a new direction for her character that wouldn’t feel very contrived, in terms of storytelling.

I will try to find the Disqus thread later, but since I’m logged in at the moment.

Comic reviews are just under Auxilary now? TV and TV Reviews needed to be separated, but comics and books don’t have their own section — or sections? Not cool, Kinja-AVC, not cool.

It wasn’t even labelled What’s On Tonight on the front page. Instead, it was something like “Shared from TV Club” as if it were another webpage entirely.

My current (favorite?) annoyance: reading, say, a TV article, and then being taken to a page of all TV news, like they were on a new webpage (which the URL seems to say is actually happening) or like a new newswire section (as in the old AVC.) In the past, all those “You might also like” links were much less

That’s what I’ve been noticing, too. I am trying to figure out how much of this is merely change that annoys me (like previous revamps to the AV Club page), but I will get used to in time. (See — separate section for TV Reviews in the new AVClub, when it used to be all under TV.) And how much of this is so much

Hmm. Old comments from the reviews have not been ported over. Wonder if that is expected to change, or if the discussions are gone forever.

Or that you only want to talk to the author, which is very weird.

Again, I’m not actually replying to Gwen. This aspect is really weird, like I am trying to directly talk to the author.

Testing — and discovering that somehow, Kinja thinks I’m replying to the author of the article.

I feel like this is some kind of trap designed to lure out the troublemakers, and shoot 'em down in one fell swoop, like when Kalf slaughtered the dissenters of Hedeby for Lagertha.
And yet here I am watching comments grow.

I think you may have had better peers. Or more interesting crimes. I am glad that it was a good experience for you, though, because that's what I would like it to be.
Maybe I should move to where you live. =)

I used to want to serve on a jury. After making it through twice, being chosen, getting to vote, and realizing in both instances that it all came down to witness testimony and beyond reasonable doubt — well, if it is ever beyond a reasonable doubt, they don't go to trial. They settle. So from now on, when asked if

I am so glad I read this article. Made me laugh, smile, and feel good about my fellow man. Now off to the comments for dessert.

Oddly enough, their live show is more like a 60's British invasion revival lately, with Murdoch doing his best to get everyone to dance — including pulling ladies up on the stage. I was truly surprised, mostly knowing only their early, twee bedroom stuff.
But since I was there for Andrew Bird, I got bored halfway

I think the artists he works with tend to expand upon his writing, and also help reign him in. (Less unnecessary prose when the artist can make things look amazing.) On his own, his style got old for me really quickly, and there's that problem he has with endings.
I actually love the ending of Sandman, even with all

I like this joke, but since science fiction is typically based on some changes to our science. . .. and the typical Republican seems to have disdain for science in general, we may need a new genre tag for this.
