Comedy/horror indeed.  Broad daylight sexual assault, glaring and garish, coupled with a quip that you feel bad about laughing at the end.  The severed arm was a lighter moment, as well as the observation by the kid who found the arm that he didn't want to leave it there for fear it would be gnawed on by a dog.
But I'm

Trailers go after easily impressionable people who may not pay attention to the film industry/what's coming out next.  That's probably loads more than read sites like this, so it's probably another reason why studios will continue to make dumb trailers — they are looking for the largest, less scrutinizing audience.

And in the spirit of Varmints — I had never heard this expression translated into English before, so you tickled my brain — plus gave me a good translation to give to my friends after using the original during toasts.  Thank you.

Maybe all three — Ann, April and Leslie being new moms together could help morph this show into Up All Night.  It was NBC's secret plan all along.

I'm so glad to have found a thread where Don/Bobby is being discussed more.  Those parts of the episode was grueling for me, for many reasons.  I've got two boys; we live in Boston; I work at the library that Martin Richards went to; and while all this crap went on the last couple of weeks, I'm somehow expected to

That was an awesome tip.  Thank you so much.  Been enjoying the music and the fun images of TW dancing sexy, and the anorexic AB. Both had fantastic arms.  Who knew?  The proto Stop Making Sense.  It's awesome!

No sarcasm from me.  Really jealous.  And would have also been unable to form a coherent sentence, regardless of heat exhaustion or sobriety or etc.

So many thoughts.
First: Wow, just when I thought I couldn't love Tilda more.
2nd: why can't my profession be the one where she dances at memorial services?

Me, too.  But I guess I'm happier this way.  Originally, the finale would have aired in the middle of my vacation, which would have made me very twitchy/edgy when I would have been hanging out with the family.  (Who are too young to watch it with me.)
Now, I'll just be useless upon returning to work until the finale.

Help!  Who is the ice cream bar?  George Sr.?  (by process of elimination?)  And if so, why?

Oops.  Can't add.  Thanks.

I'm afraid you might be.  My copy was 142 minutes, and both the skis and evidence of philandering are right near the end.
Chances are your copy is defective.

This may have been discussed on other episode write-ups, but I can't wade too much into the comments sections.  (Spoiler warnings or not, it's just hard to not read things, even as I pass them by.)
But I am curious if anyone else has the same feeling about the way this show is filmed, particularly the lighting.  I am

My situation would be the opposite — I had heard a few Talking Heads songs before this (Burning Down The House; Wild Wild Life; And She Was) but had never really gotten into them.  It was pretty much the pop songs that made it to the top 40 for me at this stage, as I wasn't really earning much money.

Hey, that's just up the street from me right now!  (The library.)  Can you +1 for gphatty after work?  Thx.
Seriously, though — my kids won't let me stay out late.

Considering the chatter on the Herzog article, this idea had me in stitches.

One guess — it isn't possible to infer/get all of those connections in the shortened version that starts the show.  The short version hits it and quits — a taut thriller like theme, with some hints at early '60's big band production.  The long version expands upon the themes, and allows the listener to catch the

Heh.  IRL I am a children's librarian, so that's even funnier.
"Hey, kids.  We're going to explore some classic comedy after school today, with this great comedian called Richard Pryor.  After we watch the video, we'll try to tell our own stories about the time we tried to get off with available household items.  Or,

I often spend too much time thinking about what to write, to the point of not writing anything, as smarter folks than I usually hit these boards with the thoughts I had in my head.
But this ep was so sweet, so funny, and even clever (with the C Story jokes), I just wanted to voice how much I enjoyed it, and like many

Two hours of unreleased material?  Hmm.  So if I have And It's Deep, Too (9 CD's), plus many original LP's from my dad, what's new?  Will I need to shell out for this, or get the library I work at to do so?
