Hmm... answers.yahoo.com comes to mind. WAY too addictive. AnswersYH site reminds me of the cartoon "coming to bed dear?" "not yet, someone on the Internet is wrong and I have to correct them!"

I was hoping it would use some standard algorythms. After all, something like rock-n-roll isnt hard to code then plug in the randoms. I will still be keeping an eye on the term "fractal music" and hoping for it to merge with some standard genre algorythms in some program.
Hmmm... combine this with LifeHackers tip on ambient lighting with rope lights. Can it be hooked into the speaker outlet from the computer? Would be a nice "get your attention" feature for my server. Instead of "speaking" (which irritates everyone in the house) it could speak to the speaker flashing the desk lights.
IF YOU HAVE BIFOCALS, GET A COMPUTER PAIR
Thats been my impression in the past. That a total wipe, or fresh install, works well but upgrading while keeping everything you had is major headache. #operatingsystems
@mohan37: Thats what I was just wondering. I dont have a waffle maker but I do have a sandwich maker that doesnt get enough use to justify the counter space #foodhacks
I use all 3. Windows for desktop (toys and games), Mac for portables, Linux for server. What I would like to see is a breakdown of happy Win7 users for how many were fresh installs vs upgrades from WinXP or upgrades from Vista. Thats important info to get out IMHO #operatingsystems
I pipe my desire thru bc. But Im also grateful for your example also. "Dont use Linux if you like to ask a question and get an answer. Use Linux if you like to ask a question and get 100 answers on 100 different ways of doing the same thing." #terminal
Depends what you mean by "main". I use Debian Linux for a personal internet server (my web, email, chats, ftp, etc). I use Mac for my portables (good basic apps, ease of use, security, stability). And I use WinXP for my desktop (mostly for the games and new "toy" things) #operatingsystems
Going grocery shopping take an antiseptic wipe for the handle of the shopping cart. #flu
One Ive used alot to play with how text appears is a program called Font Twister. #design
I want a budget tool that is game based. I can spend hours managing the economy of my empires, but cant stand to use a serious spreadsheet looking tool. I want gold-piece sliders, negatives in red, drag adjustable pie charts, etc. SURELY someone has done this already.
This can carry over to personal also. As a budget trick against splurge spending I started keeping the household budget money and credit cards in a separate wallet from my back pocket wallet. And as a NetCop Ive always stressed that people should get for online AND daily use those limited amount credit cards you can…
wake up, boot computer, take morning pills while thats happening, sign on to windows, go to the bathroom while thats happeing, check email, check newsgroups, open browser and tell firefox to open the folder called Morning into all tabs. Now I have a quick view of every site that gives me weather, news, and any forums…
I learned foreign languages by playing MUDs (text-based online worlds).
How do I suggest getting others to do things even if they dont want to?
I used to have a fancy camera where you could do the separately from the picture. I found that setting the flash off, then taking the shot, got me the best pictures I ever took. People were amazed at finally being caught looking like themselves.
People would be surprised how little computer it takes to replace most of your internet services if you dont share the computer with thousands of other users. It could host home web pages, handle secondary email accounts, even host some internet games.
Ive got a shirt that goes over well when people see it.
