Three US races is pretty excessive for a series that isn't so popular here. As between Indy, COTA, and Laguna Seca, I think Laguna Seca was the most sensible candidate to be axed because a) the locals (not the fans, mind you) didn't seem to keen on the whole affair, and b) Moto2 and Moto3 couldn't even race there.
