Unfortunately, it was dreadful and surpassed in quality by Halloween 2 and 4; movies that had a fraction of the talent, budget and ambition of Kills.

Agreed. There was a kernel of a decent idea and some elevated ambitions, but it was completely botched in its execution. I also found the narrative structure disjointed and confusing, with the incessant flashbacks that did very little other than halt the momentum of the movie. Everything was so on the nose, artless…
I hope Carole tears Andy a new anus.
This is one of the funniest things I’ve read on Jezzy because it’s too fucking true! I keep laughing about the bay windows.
Sorry you’ve gone through all that. Solidarity.
The question isn’t ‘does watching Dave Chapelle’s content turn an otherwise normal person into a violent transphobe?’, it’s ‘does Dave Chapelle’s content contribute to a transphobic culture which enables violence to be meted out to trans people?’
It’s somehow half a movie AND over stuffed and bloated. It’s quite a puzzle.
The scene where Lisa Rinna defeats Michael Myers by screaming ‘OWN IT’ at him until he melts into a puddle was a masterclass in pathos. 10/10
Not quite as bad as resurrection, but Halloween 2 and 4 are much better than Kills. Which is depressing considering the budget and talent involved in this.
I thought of Naked Gun 2 and Half during the hilarious pandemonium at the hospital scenes.
It was really fucking terrible. I was quite shocked this was the same creative team behind Halloween 2018. That was restrained, relatively elegant, and lean. This was a bloated, meandering mess with some world class bad dialogue and a confusing structure that had no beginning, middle and end.
Oh, are you just trolling?
It’s very odd watching you insinuate she’s racist then get angry with her for picking up on it, and then use her picking up on it to further insinuate she’s racist.
Please show me where I said she wasn’t entitled to her opinion? Have I said “You shouldn’t be upset about this”? I said I thought the article was dumb and an overreaction. People are free to think otherwise.
You’ve hit the nail on the head.
So someone who is not in a dominant power group can’t be racist, but they can be bigots, because their individual prejudice will not have broad and wide sweeping implications.
