Optical, laser, and scrollwheel are all part of the device itself. They aren't accessories.

And this could've been done with email. Facebook specifically had nothing unique to do with the diagnosis or recovery. Non-story in that regard. As for the parents sending a photo online to a doctor? So what? Getting a second, third, etc opinion can be a good thing. And this doctor was their friend, so why not? …
