I would say that Leia pulling herself is more attributable to force users’ ability to manipulate the physical world. Long established movie examples are moving things, lifting things, redirecting blaster fire, force-push, Vader force-choking a bitch, etc.

Carrying a single folding hilt is a lot more practical than carrying two hilts. The former only requires one hand. While less dramatic looking, you can also deploy the “blades” after you have unfolded it.

I don’t think you know how a switchblade works; this is a Jedi Temple Guard’s saber. Its also obvious that this isn’t a movie trailer.

The style of it doesn’t bother me. It has more of a CW animated vibe than than a cheaped-out live action style.

The editing in the final pre-TLJ trailer, implied that Rey was becoming Kylo’s student so I agree this is probably a big of teaser misdirection. I’m happy they aren’t revealing actual plot points like that.
