I’d guess that American audiences would be confused why a English kid has an Irish mother and an American (I assume?) dad. I love Aisling Bea and she’s brilliant in whatever, but that accent is atrocious - you can hear her trying so hard to not sound Irish it’s honestly kind of distracting. But I wonder if Americans

If we’re talking concept cars I wish had made it into production, it’s gotta be the Audi Quattro concept from 2010(!)

Oh man, now I want to see what a Cadillac WRX would look like - like the Saab 9-2x, or a just a hood-scooped Caddy crossover?

It might not even be discounts, given that dealer inventories are still incredibly low. A buyer comes in looking for a Navigator might be talked into the Continental on the lot if they’re told it’s a six month wait for the car they want.

I was under the impression that cats were being stolen off of cars not for the resale value, but because they’re full of rare-earth metals that have a high scrap value? So an anti-theft device might slow a thief down (but it won’t stop a determined thief), marking them with the unit’s VIN is not going to prevent much

Maybe a way for their management team to save face (and pay off debts/give themselves golden handshakes) in light of what seems to be an inevitable flameout? A lightly rebodied EV Silverado was never going to compete against the likes of Rivian and Ford, especially since they’ll both comfortably beat Lordstown to

I’ll see your Triumph in Ant-Man, and raise you the Sprinter van in Ant-Man & the Wasp. Apart from looking awesome it was the star of one of the most entertaining car chases I’ve seen in years.

One could argue almost all computers (smart phones at least) are British, given that the ARM processor originated with Acorn Computers.

First computer was a Sinclair - a ZX+2, with the ‘Datacorder’ aka, a built in tape drive. RIP Clive, there’s a lot of Brits (and I believe Russians too?) who owe you for opening a big door for them.

Let’s see, the best was a day trip across the Detroit-Windsor border with my girlfriend and future father in law. On the return leg back into the US, I was in the rear of the car and after my girlfriend handed our passports over to the border guard, explained we were visiting her family, and I was Scottish, the guard

Exactly what I was thinking. If Caterham aren’t smart enough to grab the tooling to the Elise, a rival like Westfield will.

They’re so much fun to drive. It’s honestly the closest you can get to the original Mini.

God, I love kei vans. There was always some small business tradesperson rocking a Bedford Rascal (the one Hammond flipped on the van episode of Top Gear) when I was growing up, and I always wanted one.

One could argue there’s precedent, given that both TNG and DS9 had multiple versions of the uniforms throughout their respective runs, but that was more down to budget issues, and the need to throw whatever on the background extras. An animated show has no excuse, especially since Riker shows up in the current uniform

That’s a totally unrealistic comparison. Toyota are about the largest car company in the world, mass producing the Corolla at a scale that’s incomparable to Caterham’s total output. I dare say that what Toyota produces in a year is more than Caterham has made since it began production.

I don’t think anyone still makes an RS200 replica though. Of the two I know about, one is proportionally off and relies on a bunch of Renault parts, and the other is underpinned by one of these:

I wouldn’t be surprised if this Ford collab is a backdoor way for VW to sell a truck in the US and avoid the chicken tax.

I mean, he already did, didn’t he? Sam Vimes’ City Watch was born out of the ashes of the corrupt as fuck Day Watch at end of Men at Arms, and was for all intents and purposes the epitome of what good policing should be - honest, fair, and there to serve the people, not themselves.

Honestly, the lead image is kind of what I’d expect a kit-car replica of a McLaren F1 would look like.

Eh, I needed a car, and it was going cheap. For the most part I liked it, just felt like driving with a bag over my head.
