Well, Adam Reed's folly… to have Lana have that baby and try for a semblance of a real life relationship, what with how he wrote the titular character and this shallow satirical show were meant to be.

Agreed on most of what you said. And if I could just add that it will need the occurrence of a catastrophe, whether in this final episode or later on if that were possible, for the writers to be compelled to resolve this degrading equation between Lana & Archer. I could also hope that the said cataclysm-to-be ends…
"After last season, it seems like their relationship problems are there because it serves the plot…" I so agree. And if the show doesn't get the breakup resolved by the end of this season, they could stand to lose out on the adoring viewership of those who put a great deal of stock into the fruits of that…
Yep, unbearably contrived for sure, the Archer-Lana spat did seem so. Perhaps the writer(s) were trying to extract some extra mileage from having Lana react with passion to Archer's "death" in the concluding episode(s), if and when any of this should happen.
Re. "Archer and Lana should have never been… again.." As if. Well, don't you wish for the redemption of the lead character of this show you love so much, for him to eventually live good and be loved? And don't you want Lana to be the redeemer?
Um, nyope! There's at least somebody who won't let him be ever since that happened. Where were the benefits of that long talk she aimed to have "if they had survived the heist" in the last episode?
What's with the matching irate raised eyebrows looks & then one-narrowed-eye looks shared by Archer & Lana after both deal with these conversation lines twice with roles interchanged?
"And you were just going to do it!"
-"Not me!"
Which is fine and dandy… and then also Cyril's biggie unlike Archer's isn't prone ( or is prone enough, hah - phrasing!) to not sound out its erectile, um, uber-functionabliity, if you will, when incited so in its compact quarters.
Can't fathom the lengths Archer's mom will go to ruin and, or unsettle his relationship with Lana!
Cuz, that crazy lady's ok with "literally pimping Lana out" despite the latter's strident reservations against the offer… If only she could have along with Lana, witnessed how Archer at that very moment had been (more…
Aw, that Cyril's amazing assertions will never cease! He overestimates the number of years he dated Lanaaa ( 3 years!! 2-3 months +Season 1+a few episodes into Season 2+Season 4 Episode 3 to Episode 10-12 don't equate to a period of 3 whole years! ) more than he does his importance to Lana's relationship quotient with…
