I agree. I remember the girl that committed suicide after her father publicly shamed her by cutting her hair and posting it all over social media. Although, that was an extreme case - that’s where my mind went. Parents need to be mindful and take into consideration how their children will deal with the attention.
The problem is not the punishment. The problem is her being extra and including folks that shouldn’t be involved. If she had went around to neighbors offering services, that would be one thing. In this instance, I, being totally unrelated, know about this because she thought it proper to shame him on the internet.

I agree. I feel it reinforces the importance of punishment over the importance of course-correction. Maybe the next time he has a problem, instead of going to his parents for help, he’ll decide that it’s not worth the over-the-top theatrics and take his issues into his own hands.
