I love google's cloud infrastructure, but for a newbie, there is no ONE SPOT that handles it all, whereas apple has itunes.

I still think this is one main area Android needs to improve. People moving from IOS to Android ask me all the time "so do I use itunes?," "How do I sync this?" etc.

I don't think the answer here is giving up on email, the answer is improving email overall.

I have tried and used Datasync. I even bought the pro version and it works well, syncs with box, dropbox or directly with a BT or WIFI client.

I had a buddy in a similar situation. He was making $10 an hour and worked for the company for 20 YEARS. After the paychecks bounced for 2 months, my buddy quit. He applied for unemployment and was denied because he quit, citing "disputes over wage" were not applicable. They didn't care that he wasn't getting paid,

Also, it still amazes me that Google and Amazon are still so terrible with music recommendations.

the only cd it added for me was a weird string tribute to radiohead I bought forever ago.

THIS!

I am not saying ramsey's advice is only for the rich, but I too noticed his callers (at least for the time I watched his show) were people making 100k+ trying to get out of a bit of debt.

You wouldn't download a car...

I am just as pretentious as the next guy, but I never liked wine (or cigars, or jazz).

I have always wanted to make a custom search query a custom webpage that displayed a series of iframed results but am too lazy.

I really wish google would release an add-on for chrome that acted as a sync manager for android.

well for new drives, you can go wd green (2tbs are around $100) or you could go with the new reds, which are more robust for 24/7 operation and are designed with features for raid. They cost a bit more, but not much.

i will check it out, thanks.

The big problem with tasks, is there is no reminder (no auto email, or sms via gcal).

A big benefit to a "portable server" is you can take your files with you easily. Imagine taking your entire DVD collection when you visit your family this holiday, or making a backup of your friends pc before re-imaging the system. Heck, if your NAS handles your downloading tasks (BT, NZB, ETC) you can just sync it

A NAS does not needs tons of power, but for some tasks, such as running sickbeard, sabnzb, bittorrent, dlna transcoding or other "server-style" tasks, a more powerful system is better.

Oh, and I should probably mention that I think this tip is lame,. If it works for him, Great, but for my workflow it would just be terrible.

I used to heavily use the gmail "star" feature to mark "action require" emails, but it got to the point where it was out of sight, out of mind.
