Often at LAX and SFO, the precheck line is longer than the regular line. One time myself and a colleague who has precheck both arrived at SFO together. He went to his line that looked almost as long as mine. I still made it out first — precheck didn’t even speed up the process on a line more or less the same size.

It’s not true. Airplanes have HEPA filters and also mix fresh air with filtered air. The air coming out of the overhead vent is “clean.” If you do get sick from exposure on an airplane, it’s most likely from a person in your row or the row in front/behind you. Recent studies have shown, BEYOND DOUBT, that the average passenger jet, that is, the plane *itself* is a germ. You are flying in a germ. All along, people were blaming airborne germs, and overlooking the biggest carrier of them all.

I love how people expects that everything is sterile when nothing really is, but yes, there are a few things to always take care of to prevent possible diseases to yourself and others around you.

This isn’t nearly expensive enough to dissuade the poors from using it. Just like TSA precheck isn’t expensive enough for that line to be just as long as the regular TSA line anymore.
