Always a thrill to see an article about the Ridley Scott Superbowl commercial.

Don’t listen to this dude, Erik. You drink as much as you want. Just don’t die or, ya know, become dependent.

Reverse: My broken brain does this every time an El Camino mention is made:

But will this show up in the Carfax report?

Obligatory

Never. Buy. A. Used. VAG. Product.

I don’t suggest buying new, either. Lease, sure, if that’s your thing. But that’s as far as I will go.

Man I WANT to NP this, but I think the seller is trying to get back his maintenance costs especially that $7K spent on the timing chain . . . and that’s not how it works. Love the looks, the stick, the power and I can deal with German vehicles without losing my cool.

As long as Larson goes out and DOES some good to be part of the cure to racial inequity, rather than part of the problem....I’m fine with it.

This is a tough question because, Luxury cars SHOULD be expensive/privilaged, but at the same time, not overpriced.

Most people didn’t* need access to a home printer.

The only way to defeat a German inspector: Technicalities.

My functional, reliable DD slipped timing randomly one day and, just to one-up torch, bent all 16 valves. This is not a problem known to happen on these engines unless the timing is redone incorrectly but that had never been touched on my car. It gave me 70,000+ dead nuts reliable miles with just oil changes and one

The EB engines are short stroke and wide bore. They are higher revving motors by design. Is that ideal? Not sure. It’s just what they are. Toyota’s V35A that will be in the next Tundra hits peak torque at 1800 rpms. It’s a long stroke and narrow bore twin turbo v6. So it has the same displacement as the Ford EB, but

With your logic, you should put goggles on and spray them with water from a spray bottle every where you go. This way, you get the practice rain or shine... should likely be able to drive through a monsoon in a year.

I’ve never had a car with automatic wipers, and I’m not sure I’d like them. I am obsessive about the delay being exactly right such that it’s not wiping too much or not enough, so I futz with the delay setting way more than a normal person would.

Look at some of these posts, going on about their 8, 10, 12 year old manuals. These are not new car buyers and new car buyer do not want sticks, plain and simple. Funniest I saw was a truck owner complaining in Car & Driver that the 2020 Ford he liked no longer had a manual option. Said he was sticking with his 2000.

I’ll be somewhat contrarian here. I’m also going to pick a north-south route and I’m gonna pick one that goes through a lot of desert - US 93 from Wickenburg, AZ to Eureka, MT.

US-2 and it’s not close

You can even route yourself over the Great Lakes if, actually, probably not at the moment.

Many many years ago at a biker bar, I sat down on a stool next to an old German woman. I had never been outside of North America, but my dad had told me his better memories of the Alps and the Mosel River valley from the 40s (including a Jeep road trip) and I had always wanted to see those landscapes in person. But I
