I disagree strongly; cost wont matter at all. I live in a red state, and they could give EVs away for free and these folks wouldn’t touch them. Everything’s symbolism in these parts — EVs signal “Democrat” here, and they wouldn’t be caught dead buying or doing anything that hinted they might support The Devil’s Party,

I mean is it really that crazy to imagine someone might say “Hey there’s an upcoming product that I’m really excited about. It’s not coming out for a couple years but for a refundable 0.2% deposit, I can at least make sure I’m at the front of the line in 2 years when it’s released

Who the fuck is working in marketing these days. Hyundai had a similarly cringey (for nearly opposite reasons) video with this shit:

My point in using those other examples before was to show that the H3 doesn’t look that much different than those cars that are being sold today, one of which is a brand new design, the others of which aren’t all that old (G-Class excepted).

It’s the car they* didnt want you** to have.

I still find that the Hummer was suggested—and made this list—funny. Vehicles have only moved closer to the Hummer styling; getting larger, bulkier, more off road looking, smaller windows, more aggressive looking. Heck, the Hummer EV styling picks right up where this thing left off.

The worm logo has gotten pretty darn close to the moon... on the Orion capsule.

Don’t forget, that ethanol in gasoline is a huge subsidy to the farming industry.

Booo, hisssss.  They are great.

But you don’t seem to be suggesting it’s bad because it’s aged poorly.  It seems like you’ve never liked it.

What!?!?!  They aren’t the coolest cars in the world, but I’m not sure how their design has aged poorly.  I’d argue you could release their designs today and it would only take some really minor tweaks to make them look appropriate.

The blob generation of cars. And if you need a specific example, the Hyundai Coupe is probably one of the worst of those.

Buy more connectors to quick connect a battery tender and permanently leave it on your bike. Makes hooking it up easy and convenient. Most of those connectors can be used to hook up a phone charger too.

How in depth for this calculation should we be getting here?  Should I be doing a Net Present Value calculation for that ~$4.5k difference in MSRP and what a potential buyer could be doing with that extra $4.5k in their pocket had they saved it up front?

No. You are off. Prime has a 13.6kWh battery and claims a full electric range of 39 miles. That’d be 2.85 miles/kWh, not 6.

How often are you carrying around 8ft 2x4s? If you are doing any home building, you’ll almost always have longer lengths, and thus unable to close your tailgate and have them lay flat.

Most people that make the above complaint, have never hauled a sheet of plywood or drywall in their life.  What does closing the tailgate in this case do?

The need to close the tailgate is over rated. I haul drywall and furniture grade plywood all the time in my shortbed.

I would agree IF the flight costs were reasonable. $81K for a 79 mile flight is not reasonable. Knowing “air ambulance bills were high” is not the same as getting a $81 K bill, especially when if she had been covered by Medicare the air ambulance company would only have been allowed to charge $10K. That is a $71K

Work more hours, take more contracts/shifts. It’s not that hard.  If Oklahoma is anything like most of the US, there’s certainly not a shortage of openings for her to take.
