Are you talking about the nonmetallic paints that don’t have any fleck in them? Like this?

Yeah, the do happen, but are statistically extremely unlikely. In my city of approximately 90,000 homes, the last gas explosion was about 3 years ago and the guy did it on purpose. While not all 90k have gas, the vast majority do as it is by far the most economical way to heat around here.

Oh, I totally get it. This has always been my favorite V10 swap and it’s because he had the money to avoid the two affordable turds.

I wish, but the only semi-affordable V10s are Tritons & Magnums; both those are boat anchors by today’s standards with crummy aftermarket part availability to try and get more out of them. Any other V10 is incredibly expensive for performance that can be matched or beaten by a V8 or V12.

Seconded. A Kizashi is also great option that is less of a penalty box.

I think the argument is that an X5 will do everything as good than a similarly spec’d X6 while looking better and having more room for both passengers & luggage. The argument isn’t that SUVs/CUVs won’t sometimes perform better than cars.

Also, don’t most people who go camping end up getting a stationary camp site and then maybe drive to hiking/boating/kayaking/etc that day? Even if setting up a rooftop tent is quick, I don’t think I’d want to have to set it up every time I need to drive my car somewhere.

Could it just be that there aren’t yet all that many EV/hybrid CUVs/SUVs/minivan type cars that women are more likely to buy yet? I remember reading somewhere that women are much more likely to buy the CX5/CRV/Highlander/Pacifica type cars than men. There hasn’t been as many EV options for CUVs/SUVs until more

Yeah, I’m sure that is part of it; but I think the bigger part is that the rate drivers are actually held accountable for when they hit pedestrians, cyclists, other cars, buildings, etc is just plain old laughably low.

Why does everyone always comment about scratching up a $100K or even $50k off roader, but not about crashing a $150k track car like a GT3? Neither car will likely be truly used as design intended, but the few people that actually do probably aren’t too concerned with the consequences of doing so and are probably insure

I know you’re joking. But the US still has MANY MANY munitions plants in the US.

What makes that one so good? I can see ‘21 is clearly crap, but there isn’t another NASCAR game newer than one from 17 years ago that is better?

How disappointing. I’ve been looking for something that can power a fridge, a couple rooms worth of lights, as well as (maybe too optimistically) have enough juice to power the electronics on my gas range & gas furnace like a true generator would have incase I ever lost power. Anything battery powered just seems cost

That sounds..... extremely generous. Even if it isn’t, putting down a $100 that is fully refundable is way easier than and in no way anywhere near similar of a commitment as actually buying a (assuming previous pricing is valid) $40k+ truck.

It’s gonna be a hit for like the 2000 weirdos that are actually willing to fork over the money for a giant, unconventional, and less useful truck purely for the off the wall overly retro-futuristic design & look-at-me factor. But for the general truck buying populace, I agree. It’s gonna be 100% DOA.

It’s crazy that, continuing with the 2016 Camry example in the article, a car that can burn 44 gallons of fuel can do it with less emissions than a teeny engine maybe burning at most a half gallon of fuel. I wonder what exact emissions they are referring to though, it certainly can’t be CO2, right?

The back seat is small, but it looks like the front seat is ALL the way back in the pictures. My coworker has a V just like this and a full grown adult can fit in the back so long as you don’t put the front seats all the way back like this. Yeah, it’s a small car so it doesn’t have tons of room, but certainly livable.

Yeah, I feel like Subaru’s biggest “threat” is upmarket alternatives and even then I don’t think it’s that big a problem. Oddly, Subaru people seem to keep buying Subarus and not looking much else where. Most people I know who no longer drive Subaru is because they now earn more and can afford something else that is

I guess I don’t understand the solidarity argument. Why does everyone have to show solidarity? It’s not like you’re showing solidarity with the underpaid workers in China that probably made the phone or computer you typed that comment on. Or solidarity with immigrant that probably harvested the food you had at lunch.

The only thing not to like is that you can’t get the 6.4L in one anymore.
