Well, the minority hating another minority is a complicated, complex barrel of horseshit, but I think it's safe to say that being a minority in one aspect of your identity unfortunately doesn't make you inherently empathetic to others.

This is…a weird and wrong headed way of even approaching this. What are you using to quantify how people of color are somehow more toxic in expressions of masculinity compared to white people? And why are you lumping a bunch of disparate races together against white people regarding expressions of masculinity? The…
I played Tap My Katamari to satiate my continuous irritation that so many PS2 games were never ported to the updated systems, leaving me forever unable to play them. Great music, as you say, but a mobile game could never compare to the pure blissful insanity of the full game.
I think part of the appeal of Tomb Raider for me was that I don't usually play or enjoy first person shooters, so many of the gameplay elements that feel derivative to a lot of players don't bother me, simply from my own lack of experience with the genre. Other than Half Life, I can't think of another first…
Thanks for that lovely and nuanced reading of your choices (I made the same one you did) but I'm mostly here just to tell you that Bae>Bay is brilliant. Carry on.
I watched it like every other queer girl I knew at the time, but please, can we not? Do we not remember Jenny? The case of Alice's bisexuals-don't-exists-lol characterization? The train wreck that was the writers' grasp of trans people? I still have horror flashbacks of everything involving Max. The Curious Case of…
Must be something about X-Shi fights in Nier: Automata because my other favorite in addition to the one you mentioned is So-Shi, with that amazing, building music track that peaks right as 9S cuts the lights (and the shields) and you can go to fucking town.
Just to push back against one of your points regarding emotions being forbidden. The only android who says that is 2B, and she says it solely to 9S.
Agreed, also disappointed by the Gladio episode but the story for Prompto looks like it could do some interesting character work. Then again, if there's one thing this game has failed at it's story cohesion, so I'm just holding my breath for some nice character beats and a different game play. I never used guns as…
Oh look! You and me can be the only people who actually enjoyed Final Fantasy XV! Really, I don't blame anyone for their grievances with the thing. It absolutely has a laundry list of narrative problems and some of the gameplay mechanics seem slapped together and poorly conceived—that stealth section was torturous—but…
The only reason I didn't get that ending is because when I accidentally picked the wrong answer (which I thought was the right answer) a thought bubble appeared asking "Am I really making the right choice?" At which point I realized the game was flashing a neon sign saying "clearly not, pick the other one dummy!"
Do we think Osment will be recruited to reprise that role? I was always endeared to Sora specifically because of Osment's voice acting but well, we're 10 years down the line and just now getting a trailer. How deep is his voice now?
Totally hear you! Particularly regarding the conscious aspect, though I believe many times it is a deliberate choice, I know plenty of other black people who will deny colorism, so my faith in any type of white-controlled media regarding this issue is practically non-existent.
I'm not sure what I was expecting….It's like she put all the people she hates in a sentence generator with a bunch of random words and after hundreds of years the sentences reached bare coherence.
I'm embarrassed for two reasons: one, of how loudly I just laughed at work and two, that your suggestion is actually plausible.
Though light-skin black women are most definitely still black women, I absolutely agree that the TV/film landscape is a paper bag test in action. I believe Brown Girls will do right by it (meaning, have dark skin women in the cast). Very hopeful for this show!
I always meant to go back and finish FFXII but I never got around to it because I found Van to be absolutely insufferable, vastly more so than Titus who also annoyed me but that was mostly due to his English voice actor. I really appreciate the attempts to move away from mopey, cynical 17-22 year old male JRPG…
Thanks for the advice regarding the cable! I don't remember being particularly cheesed about the motion accuracy during my original play though, but I don't quite trust 19-year-old me because there was absolutely a level of "the controller responds to my motions?! how kewl is that?!" clouding my judgement.
The story for that particular sword is surprisingly quiet and sad. I played the game it originates from immediately prior to Nier: Automata, so I was especially depressed to read the weapon's story conclusion after the final upgrade. It does put that character (who owns the sword) into a slightly different light,…
Your consistent updates of your Twilight Princess progress inspired me to steal my family's Wii on a recent visit so I could do the same (with my youngest sibling having finally left for college no one was using it anyway). I remember loving it the first time I played it but that was almost ten years ago, so most of…
