Blood Simple is definitely his greatest role, but I also really enjoyed his small role in Raising Arizona as “machine shop ear-bender”, we’ve all known someone like that at work. I think I might have even been that guy on occasion.

And it has gotten a critical reassessment that has been really favorable to it. A more minor work from Altman, sure, but a cartoonish ensemble comedy starring Robin Williams and Shelley Duvall that took a big swing and did something no other filmmaker would even dare to do at the time...that’s amazing.

I have no problem with someone using they as a personal pronoun, but as writers it is still incorrect to use plural verb forms in those cases.
