I certainly think he’s one of the last, but I think Slash is the last true guitar hero, per your definition.

Uh...I’m going to see the Smashing Pumpkins there on the 17th. So how is that going to work?

Look at you, making sense and all.

Scrolled through all of the comments and had to wade into the grays to find some love for Ghost. Finally, some love for Prequelle! The most entertaining metal band out there.

2008 Celtics.

I’m really hoping they didn’t do away with the original love story plot involving Woody and his search for Bo Peep, because I was actually looking forward to that.

Metallica has been my life since my 9th birthday. When I was a kid in suburban Maryland, my best friend’s older sister dated a guy who was into Metallica and, trying to impress him, she bought herself an acoustic guitar and tried to learn to play it. So, while spending time over there, for weeks at a time she would

Or maybe some people, like Howard Stern, grow and evolve. And shouldn’t be slammed retroactively when they’ve made progress as humans. Lord knows I did.

Poor Fafa Fo-hi. That pitch even got inserted into this, of all stories.

ReLoad-ing.

The Sod That Failed

I’m on the fence about it. I’m sure there are things from early childhood that the passage of time strips away that could be recovered. Once in a while I’ll find myself remembering something from my childhood, 25 years later (nothing traumatic, of course, which is a major difference.)

As a native Baltimorean, I have to actively try to suppress my accent sometimes. I dread whenever my charming yet troubled city gets any kind of national spotlight because there’s an inevitable discussion of how dumb our accents are. I’m pretty good at hiding it, but whenever I’m nervous or angry it seems that water

If one were to believe Nora’s story (I have no opinion on it either way because I think it’s beside the point), the idea would be that Nora’s perspective is that she simply doesn’t belong in the 2% world. Whether or not she chooses to engage with the rest of humanity, she belongs in “real” Earth.

The birds carrying messages of love, of course. They return when she finally takes the weight of the “sins” off of her shoulders, symbolized by beads, and reconnects with Kevin.

Watch the show. On the show, they typically call the people who disappeared “Departures.” Those who remain feel “left over” because they’re diminished in the absence of what they once had.

Another example of faith is Matt Jameson, who in this episode finally admits that he is scared of death and doesn’t know. *That’s* faith - the not knowing. If we were sure that there was a God, it wouldn’t be faith. It’d be an understanding of fact, with no risk involved. Faith is the circus acrobat that reaches for

Agreed. There’s a difference between wrapping things up neatly and then there’s the perfect ending. The Wire and BB wrapped things up neatly.

On top of that - the man and his child move on first. It’s the wife who holds on longer than anyone else and is left on the roof every time, in pain. At first, I thought that was a metaphor for Kevin Sr., but I’ve come to realize that it’s been Nora on the roof all along, in pain. It’s Kevin who left the pain behind

Jason Isbell, in my opinion, is currently the best songwriter in the world. Yet his first few solo albums were hit-or-miss affairs. It took him a while to perfect his craft to the point where he could release albums as incredible as Southeastern, Something More Than Free, and The Nashville Sound.
