I think Kit is fine. He does the mopey, brooding Stark thing pretty well. I feel like he might get better with age and he was pretty funny in Seven Days In Hell. If he approaches every role after this with the same shtick, then yeah, he’s a bad actor who found the right role.

He’s gotten better over the course of the show, the problem is that Clarke really hasn’t improved at the same rate.

I hear you but I disagree. He was the substantially weaker actor in all of the pairings you mentioned. They were just better at carrying him.

Let’s be fair: they are both terrible actors. It’s like GOT had used all of the good ones on the lesser parts, ran out and had to make do with second tier for these two. Their private scenes together are terribly flat as there are no excellent actors around to save things.
