Oooh I hadn’t thought if FFVI in this style. That would be gorgeous
OMG. That is the best.
I recall picking this up at a Walmart as a kid (along with Kirby’s Adventure, SMB3, and some other NES games) for ridiculously cheap which was probably why my mom caved and said yes when I asked if we could grab that game too, haha.
You’ll be missed! Thank you so much for the awesome writing over the years and good luck in the new endeavors!
This was a really awesome article. Sometimes I wonder if I ever want children and this kind of got me in the gut. Your kids sound awesome and glad they got to experience this event!
Those recommended stories, tho!
These are ALL over the place in Utah. I like to joke that the smell of these trees gets all the mormons ready to make more babies.
This is true. They’re great for comics!
This podcast is so great. I just finished it last week and it definitely made me cry a few times. It’s such a beautifully produced podcast, sweet and devastating. Glynn Washington is such a great host as well. Highly highly recommended. Listening to it made me realize how the church I went to as a kid definitely had…
Heaven’s Gate (Glynn washington of Snap judgment hosts it) and The Polybius Conspiracy are two great ones that cover a cult that killed itself and a video game that may or may not have been involved in kidnappings.
Skyrim on my Switch - it feels so perfect on it! And I’m also playing the Shovel Knight Treasure Trove finally, that’s been a blast. I think these games will give me a good balance over the holiday weekend, and I’ll probably finish Pokémon Ultra Moon since I’m on the way to the Elite Four now.
I don’t get the hate either. The worst was when Sam Biddle would shit on it in the Gawker days. I love the Burn, it’s had a huge impact on my life, taught me a lot of skills I didn’t know I have (such as how to manage a camp of 40 people, coordinate camp construction, etc), and friendships that I’ll have for a…
As I drove back home last night, I was thinking about if I should go back to school to study anthropology at a master’s or doctorate level with a focus on gaming across cultures, and this article seems like a sign!
Also, I saw Frank Cifaldi at GDC speak about his preservation work, and it was one of the coolest talks…
This scene haunted me so much as a kid. I’ve been meaning to go back to the game - I have the DS cart in my 3DS pouch - maybe it’s time to revisit these old friends.
I loooooove the Mechanic outfit - it reminds me of Guy’s outfit from The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.
When I’m feeling silly, I love combining the clown rainbow afro wig with the pirate suit because it looks hella ridiculous.
To anyone questioning if it’s legit: try it! Most Pole studios are safe and professional spaces with instructors who care for the students and make sure they’re practicing safely. I’ve been to some studios where they offer exotic classes, but those are more supplemental classes for those who want to explore that side…
“The other wrinkle in battle relates to your character’s butthole. I did not think I’d ever write those words on Kotaku.com, but here we are.”
Well, that certainly made my day.
Should I finish Vol. 2 before playing this? I loved the first one, but the second felt like a total slog to me. I loved the Vol. 3 demo tho!
