Every morning ReRhiannon wakes up to find that someone has pissied in her cornflakes. Don't be too hard on her, it's not an easy life she's living. :(

yes, trying to make people feel stupid for liking celebrity kids

omg im so embarrassed

How about you acknowledge that you made a mistake instead of being flippant towards commentators who are right?

The journalistic integrity of an author has been called into question, and true to Jezebel ethics and practices, she fires back with middle school sarcasm.

Frankly you should be. In ignoring the actual content of the controversy you fail to add anything of value to the conversation. You'd have been better off simply ignoring the topic all together, but now that you've waded in it's pretty sad to see you do so disingenuously.

Everyone has different opinions. Being flippant about sexual abuse and leaving out giant chunks of relevant information IS embarrassing. Your snarky response is gross.

A home run? This article completely ignores multiple other examples of Dunham's disturbing behavior with her sister. Was it done on purpose or out of the author's total ignorance of the actual details of the story?

Yes. Here are some links to document what I am talking about.

I wish the website that so frequently discusses white privilege actually acknowledged it in themselves.

Just because it's an autobiography doesn't mean you have to chronicle every shit you took in 9th grade. This whole brouhaha is happening because Lena has been conditioned to believe that everything she does is just SO QUIRKY SO ZANY SO LENA, and she can't understand that it comes across as weird and off-putting to

This comment reeks of, "STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS! THERE ARE STARVING CHILDREN IN AFRICA!" This is not the pain olympics. Street harassment and the treatment of rape in India are both issues that deserve discussion and prevention methods.

I'm not lying. I don't have any experiences like this. I have five sisters, and to my knowledge, none of us ever behaved that way. The pebble story doesn't bother me, it's odd, but they were both very young. But masturbating in bed next to your ten year old sister is predatory.

Here's the only issue I have. Dunham is getting quite the pass while others (Chris Brown) aren't. I'm not saying CB should get a pass. I address that in a separate Jez article. The narrative for him from him seems to be, "I was young, it happened, I'm still paying for it, Rihanna and I are good, when will the public

THANK YOU. One more thing: Lena also relishes in delivering her sister bad news (like their grandfather dying) because it would mean that her sister would give her attention. That is some next level shit.

I agree. The parts that are gaining the most attention are the least troubling to me. The 7 yo exploring the baby's vagina is probably the most "normal" part of the whole thing. I have no doubt its common behavior. It's all the other stuff that I'd like to hear some experts on child development talk about.

They want to defend Lena and the only way to do so is to omit.

She was 17 and her sister was 10.

Why are we acting like this is only about her touching her 1 year old sister's vagina when she was 7 and not also about emotionally coercing her sister into sleeping in her bed and then masturbating while she sleeps? And about paying her sister in candy to give her long kisses on the lips? And about paying her sister

You left out the part where she talks about masturbating while her sister was in the bed with her. I've not been one to say OMG SEXUAL ABUSE but clearly boundaries and tack were lacking in the Dunham household. And it's just weird for people to be like "Oh she's just quirky." If she wasn't famous and just that woman
