This was a fun read and Paul F. Tompkins continues to be delightful… Buuuuut I'm afraid I have to deduct a point for being reminded of Rove McManus's existence. And anyone else here from Australia will already know why.

Any time I get to read an article in Mr. Peanutbutter's voice is greatly appreciated!

I really don't understand who the target audience is for them. I mean,
they'd be amusing enough as short, infrequent entries on a blog or
something, but it's really difficult to imagine someone actually purchasing one of those books in earnest and reading it in full.

It's the Yahoo Serious Film Festival all over again!

I understood about 20% of this article.

I agree. As I said in AVAD, it's not the premise that needs a reboot, it's the plethora of running gags. If they wiped that slate clean and started fresh every season (or, at the very least, minimise references to previous seasons' running gags to a handful a year), the show would be much better for it.

Eh, Rick and Morty seems to be aiming pretty consistently for a new season every year and a half. The Venture Bros is more-or-less on the same schedule as post-revival Arrested Development.

If Tony Curtis died, I think I'd know.

It's probably also worth noting that "cunt" isn't a gender-specific insult in most countries other than the US. In the UK and Australia, for example, it's pretty much interchangeable with words like "asshole" and "jerk" (when it's not being used in the anatomical sense, of course).

I'm surprised her acting reel didn't feature any footage of Martina Martinez or PatheticGirl43.

I dare say his lowest point was asking the gang to "put him down" in the season 8 premiere. He's actually been on an ever-so-slight incline from there.

They've still yet to produce anything resembling the hypothetical episode that I drunkenly coined a few years back: "Mac Eats a Scorpion." I imagine they must be saving that idea for the series finale.

It felt like a lot of season 4 episodes - a solid premise at hand, and plenty of laughs throughout, but the execution was ultimately directionless and lacking any real structure… Not that season 4 isn't great, but first time around, I found myself going "Wait, that's it?" at the end of a few episodes. I think it's

It's very strange that NBC pulled Kimmy Schmidt because it was "too dark/weird" and yet signed on for this.

Ah, okay. I stand corrected!

It's a ten episode mini-series; not possible to cancel.

I actually quite liked the Bioshock and Dishonored themes for Xbox 360 - they're quite dark and dull in colour, so they don't distract from the foreground at all, yet they're still relatively pretty to look at if one chooses to do as such. Which is all you ever really want in a background wallpaper.

I'd say Team America's funniest (and most pitch-perfect) instance of genre parody would be all the heart-to-heart conversations the characters have during the big action set pieces. They never fail to crack me up.

Euphoria, shut the fuck up! I know that was you, I ain't even gotta look! I should send your ass back to Crenshaw Pete with his hot-ass coat hangers, bitch! Would you like that?!!

Not as bad as Theme Park, at least.
