I can think that getting a license is too easy, that our driving standards are too low, that cars are too heavy, too big, and too fast (all of which Teslas are!), and say that Tesla’s branding is putting people at risk.

Maybe if they called AUTOPILOT and FULL SELF DRIVING “Take Immediate Action to Ensure that it is safe and appropriate to complete the lane change or maneuver” this crash wouldn’t have happened.
Many people are foolish, but when the company is actively misrepresenting the capabilities of the systems in place it makes it easier for that ignorance/foolishness/however you’d like to describe it, to come through.
I grew up in a rural area. My parents still live in one.
Yes, EV’s may not work for the thirteen people that would include.
You realize cities weren’t really built around cars until seven or eight decades ago. This isn’t a centuries old cultural norm.
The people advocating for getting rid of bike infrastructure are not taking public transit. Transit and cycling/pedestrian infrastructure are complimentary, not mutually exclusive.
The S13 is not a desirable ‘classic’ platform were it not for people buying them to modify and drift. They’re not otherwise special cars, imo.
Most new electric cars have a range of well over 200 miles.
The grid is bad because this country hasn’t invested in it.
This is a terrible take.
But...the cars are ugly! And Santino Ferrucci!
Because that’s super consumptive! If folks are going to have a ton of kids, you’d think they’d want there to be a halfway decent planet for those kids to grow up on.
Nah, dude. You’re just trying to justify a want.
My own car usage made me sick. I grew up in a rural town where walking was not the norm but was, in retrospect, very doable.
This is ugly but would be happy for a long while:
What if I tell you that by, ‘a year ago’ I meant late summer/early fall 2020 because I don’t know the specific time my friend bought a car.
Yeah, probably. Just weird. Its still a pretty new car! If they can come up with $4500 to buy another car, bad components seems a weird choice, right?
That and what sort of modifications does it have that they don’t trust it?
lol what? My friend bought a 2009 Fit for $3500 a year ago and it runs and drives perfectly. You can easily buy a Fit for $2500 and get years of reliable, fuel efficient use from it.
Yeah, I just dislike the usage.
That and the basic thought of every person needs a car at all times for every purpose. If this is indeed a high school kid (which I agree with), they can probably walk! When I think back about the incredibly wasteful tiny amounts of distance we drove because it was normalized, makes me…
How do you ‘need’ a third car?
