I don’t know....I’m a big fan of the guy, but sometimes there is a thing as being too loyal.

Dunno, but I once saw a woman in her late 40s to early 50s get into a yellow Lotus Elise...so who knows? Maybe she is a driving/rally enthusiast?

Another great article! Is it possible to discuss major head shapes and the best helmets for each shape? I know that webbikeworld seems to be the only site that regularly covers this aspect.

Fushigi Yuugi? Holy smokes, that brings back some memories!

You. I like you.

Yeah, but the bike has been around since...2008? I think that Ten Kate has (admirably) wrung out all the potential in the platform, and I don’t think even direct HRC development will help.

Don’t feed the trolls

Just two questions:

I’m not sure if I’d classify Ten Kate as a second rate team. The bike, yes, but certainly not the team.

I think you mean the CBR1000rr...

Which tells you more about the other people who scoff at this advice.

You forgot to include the new RX7/8/9.

I guess my main question would be the helmet fit: how friendly is it for round head shapes?

I would normally agree with you about buying used “fun vehicles” (I’m still dreaming about a used s2000 as a weekend/track car), but with WRXs and STIs, there are two main problems:

I agree: guns, bikes, and old school anime? This sounds like a vacation destination!

The correct answer has to be....used. If I’m picking up a Miata/MX-5, it would obviously be as a fun 2nd or 3rd car. If that’s the case, I’d probably strip out the interior, install a roll bar, add aftermarket suspension bits and brakes along with sticky tires. I would never do that to a car that I’m still making

It might be worthwhile to mention Britain’s SHARP ratings as an additional data point when researching helmet safety.

As some anonymous stranger on the Internet, I’d tell you that you’ll be fine with a moto helmet for autocross. Once you move up to HPDEs or you have a roll cage installed, a car specific helmet is obviously better.

No bimbos in my nice car...they always put their feet on the upholstery or insist on bringing lattes that will inevitably spill.

First thing I thought of as well.
