But... There are fan theories that speculate on everything!

you may have a point.

But that's not what some were saying - they were saying "oh, we knew it all along," and I call BS on that.

I don't know what that means.

we actually know quite a bit about Dumbledore before the last book. We know about his angst over Tom Riddle going to the dark side, his love and respect for his students, and in general that he is concerned with fighting evil. My point was that people claim it was obvious BEFORE the last book, which I think is silly.

That's a bingo!

point being that it wasn't a thread running through the whole series.

*eyeroll*

...all of which was in the last book.

it's more that I find it very convenient when people say after the fact "I always knew he/she was gay."

it's basically what you'd have in a Rob Roy or a Rusty Nail.

why? She's Scottish and she has an opinion.

are we talking about Tolkien elves? Because those guys are dicks.

that's my experience. I never put much thought into his sexuality until it related to the story. I "read" him as asexual if anything.

I think it adds a lot of context to the last book, in particular his relationship with that other wizard (sorry, can't remember the name). But before that there's very little indication about his sexuality at all.

Claymore is your standard bar brand scotch, which I would classify as "not terrible" but to a single malt snob would be akin to drinking turpentine.

who gets custody of him?

I think it was important in the last book.

And I've never understood that. I can't think of anything that implied Dumbledore was gay. I wasn't shocked, but I never put goo much thought into his sexuality.

the swords, the mines or the scotch? Because all three are pretty lethal.
