“Confinement” as it relates to pregnancy refers to the date of delivery, not the state of being pregnant. It’s still patriarchal as shit, which is why people now mostly say EDD (estimated date of delivery), not EDC. Google “married introitus” for an even more dated and regressive medical term in a similar vein.

Did they take that deal off the table because he doubled down on the claim that it wasn’t a hoax? I actually thought this was long ago resolved with community service and was surprised to hear that it did end up going to trial.

Great. Now go fix the article where you called Joshua Malina Joshua Mandel.

I can understand mistakes, but the fact that they seem to have a policy of never fixing them now is so frustrating.  Just go start a Facebook group or something if you don’t care to be an actual professional writer.

Yeah, I didn’t mean your complaint, necessarily, which seems like a fair question. I just don’t understand why they’d take it down because people think it’s too soon, which is not a thing with journalism.

At fault for uploading a news report that appeared to be a documentary?  I don’t even understand the complaint.

That does seem pretty unlikely, especially if he means at the same time, but I guess it depends on how many of those locations were universities.

Okay, you’ve sold me.

This is the reductio ad absurdum of “silence is violence.” It’s a sentiment I agree with when it comes to systemic racism and tolerating our endless military aggression, but I guess it shouldn’t surprise me that a rich white woman would repurpose it in such a way.

She probably could’ve done without calling that time in her life stressful and uncertain, especially the latter. I can buy that it was probably stressful, at least.

That totally reaffirms my feeling that Mark was the author stand-in (in addition to the character I most related to as a teenager). One of my favorite parts from Rent is when Roger is telling Mark that he “pretends to create and observe when [he] really detach[es] from feeling alive,” and Mark says that “perhaps it’s

CNN says that he believes that they didn’t hire a “competent and experienced armor.”

It also says “(nonstandard) Synonym of themselves (the third-person plural)” right after that. It’s nothing against nonbinary people to say that “themselves” can be used in the singular as much as they or them.

I cannot believe this comment didn’t get dismissed.

Trump really needed to face the consequences of inciting it. I know he technically said to be peaceful, but that whole speech was full of obvious doublespeak. A shit ton of those people were just dumb enough to be led to believe Trump’s lies (and that the president could authorize them to storm the Capitol). I’m not

I can’t ungrey these for whatever stupid reason, but

I can practically guarantee that the number of people signing each petition would have swung the opposite way even just 25 years ago, and even if the gap wasn’t as wide, she probably would’ve been fired. This is actually a feel-good story to me, and it might get me through until the next time I have to hear an elderly

I think my favorite was Ayatollah Colm Meaney.

I heard Brian Williams does it from a Chinook helicopter while taking fire over the battlefield.
