@Alipaps: Well, that again depends upon those in the marriage. I ended my marriage partly because after being in a relationship for a year I could count the number of times my spouse slept with me on one hand including the wedding night and honeymoon.

@KittenFluff: Depending upon whom you talk to, it isn't even really a choice. For right or for wrong it's simply how they feel about themselves.

@dangerslut: Well, I imagine it will affect each person differently. A person could assign their own definition of a gender role if raised in that manner, though I'm not sure that gender roles are necessarily useful or required.

I have no issue w/ people being transgendered. I have a few friends who are.
