She's just being earch conscious by not using bulbs containing mercury. Duh!

@bellethellama: I once took a 6 month vacation. I'd lost my job, divorced my wife, had a bad reaction to medication, and spent my entire life savings paying bills and eating pizza.

@frecklefacefreak: Most of the jobs that college trains you for can be had by people with no degree. I understand that you were raised thinking that the world is somehow just and fair. You found A job, waiting tables. Deal with it, reality is far more complex than what they teach you in Sunday School.

Or, as my friend once said to me... "Dude, I'm so happy with my life right now. This is definitely a positive change for me, I'm dating a (paraphrased) one breasted former stripper that is recovering from breast cancer, recovering meth addict, with 7 children from 4 different fathers!"

@blackbirdfly: Here's the thing. Asking for help isn't dragging others down with you, if you honestly want help and change in your life. You really only have one life to live (that you know of for sure), so might as well make the best of it while you can. Nobody is going to make your life better for you long term.

@Rebecca: Most people end up in jobs that have nothing to do with their degrees. A lib arts degree may not open the door to a high paying job, but at least you likely know how to think for yourself.

@wolf biter: It sounds harsh, but it's an honest question. I don't know anything about you, so it's not like I'm telling you the problem is you.

@frecklefacefreak: Here's a tip that they do not tell you when you are young. A college education does not entitle you to a well paying job, or even a job at all.

@a.clever.otter: Everyone has one of "those friends" that seems to manage to always be in some sort of drama either because they have issues or because they refuse to actively live their lives and make positive (and difficult) decisions.

@esmemurphy: No, gen Y folk won't do anything for you unless you do something for them first.

@BlueMorpho: No, they already own houses on lakes in Minnesota and Michigan.

@NotNotLickingToads: It is boring, but a lot of people still aspire to it based upon society expectations rather than what they really want.

Your life is what you make of it. Unfortunately most people really don't figure this one out until they fall on their face several times. Even then a few people never figure it out.

@wolf biter: Ever think that maybe it really is you and not them?

What next? Her cooter will develop magical healing properties and she'll begin consuming her moon blood after painting it on flatbread?

@onthecornerofparkerandwoolf: Friends that matter, you'll figure out a way to keep in touch with. Otherwise appreciate the time you had with them and make newer better friends.

And get off my lawn!
