They could have just said “thanks but no thanks” and called another company. It sucks when rental car companies don’t keep your reservation (cue Seinfeld meme), but it was their choice whether to take what was offered. Nobody had a gun to their head.

I wish all gun owners had the same attitude as you.

They aren’t “victims.” They voluntarily rented equipment that they did not know how to use, and then failed to take basic steps to acquaint themselves before using it. They then expected the company to pay for the consequences of their failure.

If so, it would have been trivially easy to figure that out before they set off.

They told them up-front there was no adapter available. You wouldn’t need to know it’s a “supercharger.” Just “Tesla charger.” It doesn’t sound like they found a charger 90 miles away and just didn’t make it. First thing any reasonable person would have done is plan the route.

Sounds like they had a bad day (and Hertz shouldn’t send out partially charged EVs any more than they should sent out cars with half filled gas tanks), but these folks don’t seem terribly bright.

From a legal perspective, I don’t understand how her prior golf career is relevant unless the tournament materials or the fine print on the hole-in-one challenge explicitly excluded pros. Otherwise, it doesn’t sound like they have much of a leg to stand on.

Another reason to avoid checking bags at all cost.

I’m guessing that Sainz is required to wear the Richard Mille watches from time to time as part of their sponsorship of the team. Not like he just randomly chose one to wear.

I’m not sure why having some diesel generations on standby for surge capacity is some sort of scandal. I know they said they had plans for solar powered Supercharger, but I don’t see anywhere where Tesla promised 100% renewable power at all times. At the very worst, the diesel-generated standby power is no worse than

I know, just ask Subaru STI drivers. They get an STI AND C.Diff.

Came to post this.

Sometimes a transmission fluid change with Redline NT-90NS will bring the 2nd gear synchro back. Mine wasn’t great, but with the fluid change it now works well once warm.

At 9,500 RPM with no more torque. It would feel like a dog off the line and around town with a Busa motor. You can get more power/torque with either of the Alfa motors mentioned with a lot less fab work to boot.

These cars are a bit too big/heavy for Busa swaps. Leave those for Kei cars and classic Minis. Best swaps are the Alfa Busso v6 (there is a kit available) or Twinspark (90s/00 Alfa motor) which is close to a direct swap. People have done K-swaps and SBC swaps, but it’s exponentially more work and ruins the character

I own an 86. Mine is modified to within an inch of its life (turbo, built motor, megasquirt ECU, etc.), but it means I’ve turned every nut and bolt on the car. These cars are mechanically simple, reliable (yes, really!), easy to maintain, and will provide a lifetime of smiles. The downside is that it’s not going to be

To the contrary, that many miles is a GOOD thing on a nearly 40 year old car. That means it likely didn’t spend long periods sitting and someone did everything necessary to keep it running.

As far as I can tell, the only reason anybody spends $2 million on this is so they can be the only one at the private jet terminal with one.

Only 4x? Even the Concorde was often more expensive than a regular first class ticket.

This isn’t about fat shaming. It’s about aviation safety. It sounds like the airline needs to re-benchmark its assumptions about passenger weight, which should be done from time to time.
