As far as I can tell, the only reason anybody spends $2 million on this is so they can be the only one at the private jet terminal with one. 

Only 4x? Even the Concorde was often more expensive than a regular first class ticket. 

This isn’t about fat shaming. It’s about aviation safety. It sounds like the airline needs to re-benchmark its assumptions about passenger weight, which should be done from time to time.

There is no plane in the world that will fly well with a poor weight distribution. Load up the tail of any plane with nothing but 300lbs passengers carrying 50lbs on a 100F day, and that plane isn’t going to be safe to take off.

Your car is a supercar next to the Crossley Hotshot, America’s first post-war sports car. 26hp of fury. Granted, it only needed to motivate 1100lbs (sans driver), but the 0-60 time was “maybe if we get a bit of a tailwind.”

The NEMA 14-50 is not designed to be repeatedly plugged/unplugged multiple times a day for months/years on end. It’s fine to use one in a pinch at an RV park or such, but there’s good reason public EV chargers don’t use it. Yes, that is typically the case in the traditional startup world, but VinFast is not that. They are now a public company where 99% of the shares are owned by one person. It’s a lot closer to my shell company example than your average startup.

When the public float is so small, it’s really easy to make a company look like it has a much higher valuation than it really does. An example:

The 86 isn’t bad at all. Find me another RWD performance coupe on a dedicated platform for $31k. The Miata starts at 28k. It’s the cheapest sports car period (and a good one to boot). 

Starting price on the Model X is now $88.5k. Top spec Plaid is $108k. You have to throw money away at FSD to get it up over $120k. But yeah, it’s overpriced. That’s why they don’t sell many these days. It doesn’t do much the Model Y can’t do for half the price.

Why cover it up? Nobody outside of Russia would believe he died of any natural cause. In Russia, they can tell whatever story they want and everyone will nod along out of fear of doing otherwise. 

I used to live in such a neighborhood. Lot sizes were either 3,000 or 6,000 square foot and the original 1920s/30s houses were mostly in the 1,200-1,700 square foot range. Effectively all new construction in the neighborhood was townhouses, because builders can’t sell new houses that are only 1,200 square foot…

I don’t follow. If you fly on airplanes and use products made with petrochemicals, you are still responsible for the use. Doesn’t matter that you don’t personally buy Jet fuel. 

Big oil has bought greenwashing TV commercials for 30+ years. The fact that they have a social media strategy in the 2020s with the same message should be news to nobody.
