Do I feel bad for the guy? Sure. But should he have done the SLIGHTEST bit of due dilligence? Hell yeah. Who buys a $60k used car and doesn’t buy a Carfax?

and they will not sell
I’m not even the target demographic for one of these, but in today’s world of overpriced cars, $60k for a nicely equipped manual Supra doesn’t sound like a bad deal. It’s not like they’re going to depreciate.
When you buy a Viper, you have to accept that the car was designed to kill you.
The V12 in the Aventador isn’t based on the original Lamborghini V12 from the ‘60s. That one died with the Murcielago. The Aventador’s engine debuted with the car.
Was that not apparent from Tesla’s panel gaps?
So, basically, non-Tesla carmakers have standards?
I just bought a full size pickup. I bought an F150 with a 5.0L. Maybe a tad less power than an Ecoboost, but it fits the bill for my occasional hauling and towing.
It actually warms my heart to see a company producing an engine based on being overbuilt and long lasting at the expense of outright power or sexiness.
This exactly. Fleets and heavy operators are figuring out that diesels high initial costs, higher costs in maintenance and higher downtimes for maintenance aren’t worth the gains in economy. A dead reliable, low maintenance and cheaper gasoline engine is the economic choice in the long run.
I like how 430HP is considered “only” now. I still remember when any truck that had HP in the 300's was hot stuff.
It’s still newer than the Nissan Z. Might as well just put it back on the market.
Well, doesn’t that look pretty damn good.
C6 and C7 values skyrocketing? You’ve got to be joking. There are like 6 people that care about “tradition,” have the available funds to buy this car and
If you’re that confident on C7 values, I’d jump on that because right now you can get them for stupid cheap from Kerbeck or MacMulkin.
Exactly! A heck of a lot more interesting than that BMW Supra that’s been the object of so much fawning over here.
I’m 100% with you on cars being dirty and terrible. Cars are meant to be used and enjoyed. Sometimes I don’t wash my cars for a year or more. But I would never, ever want someone to touch my car, or anything else I own, without my permission.
I agree that people shouldn’t hide their cars away from the world, but you don’t get to decide what other people do with their property. If someone doesn’t want you to touch their belongings, don’t touch them. It’s not about damage, just respecting boundaries.
I feel weird that this is a conversation that needs to…
