We should just be thankful they didn't source the Reddit sub-forum they found the Telegraph article linked to. And I agree, David Simon's shows get shit ratings and him making a joke about it is just him making a joke about it.

1983… A Eugene Mirman Should I Turn to Be
I'm in the middle about it. Yes, they were obviously exploiting him, but he might have been genuinely happy to be performing. A bad show can happen to anyone and from what I've read about that performance the audience not feeling they got what they paid for was what made the show infamous more than King being trotted…
Objectively the trailer was generic. It was cut/setup like every other trailer of this film's type. It wasn't interesting or engaging. Its big trailer moment, the Joker showing up, was flat and uninspired leaving more of a "meh" opinion than the "OH DUDE THIS LOOKS SO COOL" attitude it should have been aiming for.
Thug Joker is going to be opening up for Stitches on his tour of strip joints this summer.
What a steaming pile.
What cool tattoos ya got, brah?
Nah.
People turned on Ayer and this movie when they gave Joker a grill and tattoos like "damaged" on his head. Because it is stupid and he either was stupid enough to say yes to it or has no actual control over the movie outside of being a stand-in for producer's notes.

Are we still trying to give Bobby Moynihan a cartoon show? I thought that lesson was already learned.
Don't bring Gameological down to your level, Internet.
The lead singer of the Country Teasers didn't take too kindly to a heckler at a show I saw them play around 15ish years ago. He mentioned that he had picked up a new pocket knife in the last town and planned on showing it to the heckler later. After the set he was combing the crowd asking if anyone knew who the…
No, but it did help her achieve her ultimate goal. They were both broken, shitty people and both would have continued to be broken, shitty people without each other. I am sure Courtney didn't want the end to color her career like it has, but she was looking for fame and in a Twilight Zone sorta way she got it.
You've heard about Courtney; that is due to her marriage to Kurt. She jumped around numerous people for years leading up to Kurt trying to parasite off of their fame to boost her own fame. He was the one who wasn't smart enough/too doped up to say no.
Is this article actually about Jessie William Chastain?
