Russell Simmons did one. I remember the ads. And thinking that it sounded like a con. And wondering why a wealthy Black man was doing something so shady in the clear light of day. 

They apparently couldn’t afford her one small sliver of dignity. I mean it was pretty obvious she didn’t have a weapon, but allowing her to cover herself was apparently a bridge too far?

It is difficult to imagine how damaging this has to be for this Sister. How does one deal with being brutally misused and degraded by public servants in a space where they should feel safe, know peace? The payout seems small in comparison to the level of injury even though no amount of cash would make it “right”.…

Here’s an idea:
