When I mentioned her latest post to a friend this afternoon, his immediate response was “maybe she’s actively trying to get fired?”. It just absolutely boggles my mind how she just completely threw away a once in a lifetime opportunity.

There’s a big difference between a fix and a workaround. The nylon screws are not a fix.
Why would you lock down to the very first version of a major release? Those are always the most buggy.
Isn’t that kind of your job though?
I’m disappointed there isn’t a design on the back of the system. The system should also be half red and half blue, then each side could have a matching color Joycon.
The bass is really tight on the Max. Not boomy or overwhelming at all. It’s miles better than the Sony XM4 and even better still than my B&O H95. I can’t specifically comment on EDM, as that’s not what I listen to.
“no manual controls to adjust the EQ”
These aren’t Beats headphone. They’re designed by a completely separate team at Apple.
You’re horrible at satire. Nothing you’ve written here is even remotely funny. It’s just sad.
Sonos actually has a feature that allows for room correction. You basically walk around your room with your cell phone, waving it around in the air, while the speaker plays a test tone.
So ... given that Dune was supposed to originally be released a couple weeks ago, can we get it this weekend? PREETY PLEASE??
This actually isn’t all that new. These types of metrics have been captured and used by Microsoft for quite a while as part of their MyAnalytics offering.
What are you going on about? What Microsoft is offering is not an invasion of privacy. This is specifically about Microsoft providing metrics on how employees are using their solutions. Nothing here is about hidden cameras or anything like that.
In those cases any surveillance would be in the employment contract. Pretty much any medium or larger sized company will do some level of surveillance. Whether it’s ensuring users aren’t sending confidential files or tracking usage stats, it’s pretty much common practice worldwide.
I wasn’t commenting on whether or not a company should use these metrics. I even stated that I would never imposed this on my staff. I was specifically commenting on the author calling this an invasion of privacy, although no such privacy should be expected on company owned services and devices
They have the right to surveil what you do on company owned devices.
“potential invasions of privacy”?? What? As an employee, you’re being paid to do a job. While you may not like it, your employer has every right to keep track of what you do. I personally wouldn’t monitor my staff that closely, but there are many reasons why an organization may want to.
I’m a huge ThermoWorks fan and I’ve been extremely happy with Signals. My main complaint is that the battery drains way too fast if you set the unit to update more frequently.
Definitely my Xbox One X. I couldn’t have more than a few hours logged on that thing. It just sat collecting dust.
How’s Sackboy not on this list? It’s absolutely charming and really fun.
