The trailer looks pretty cool.  Unfortunately, I won’t be able to play this.  With all the time I’ve spent using VR over the years, I’ve learned that I absolutely cannot play horror games in VR.  My body’s fight or flight response always goes to flight, which makes playing pretty much impossible.

While no one can deny these look great, there’s no way I’m backing this. The fact they won’t be available for over a year, won’t be balanced and there’s a huge risk in them being unable to meet their demand given the success of the Kickstarter campaign.

Do yourself a favour and get an Odroid XU4 or N2 instead.

‘no one’s really sure why it exists’

A more accurate description would be ‘posable scale model’.

As others have already stated, this is not a toy.

I’m on the same page as you.

I want to know more about the ‘4x more powerful’ statement. They can’t possibly be referring to GPU power. That would mean ~24Tflops and there’s no way they’re going to have that (a 2080Ti is ~13Tflops), especially at typical console prices.

I wish the actual Laserdisc player itself was better.  It’s pretty much the most bare bone laserdisc player they could have possibly made.  With that said, I still love my Laseractive.  I have the N1, S1 and S10 pacs.

I’ll dust mine off this weekend and update everything before the servers go offline.  It was an interesting project and I don’t regret backing it.

It’s weird how Sony seems to want to talk about the next Playstation console, yet they’re not presenting at E3 this year.  Makes me wonder if they have something up their sleeves for E3 or if they’re really going to stay relatively quiet throughout the conference.

It’s a significant problem when a ‘Parenting editor’ can’t read and understand research related to parenting topics. It’s terrible articles like this that spread misinformation.

All that I’m feeling right now is disappointment for how impossible it was to watch the majority of the episode, as it was way too dark and edited too fast. GoT has done significantly more impressive battles in past seasons.

When I lived in Boston, I used to take the train between Boston and NYC regularly.  After the first time I took that train, I never flew between those cities again.  Amtrak provided a significantly better experience than flying.

“More slowly”?  Seriously?

Now playing

No. There’s no soldering required.

No. There’s no soldering required.

I’ve run in to what I believe to be a significant bug twice now, which has caused me to completely restart chapters. What happens is that I’ll accidentally hit the right trigger while in a town, firing my gun. It would fire at the ground and not in the direction of anyone or any building. Pretty much immediately,

The pausing that occurs during the stream is when he fixes the problem that’s causing his controller inputs to not be displayed. The timer is still running properly at that point.

I don’t get how it’s going to be 50% faster. The raw performance of the 2080 Ti is 13.4 TFLOPS, while the 1080 Ti is 11.3 TFLOPS.  That’s less than a 16% increase.

For raw performance, it’s actually a 13.4% increase for the 2080, compared to the 1080, and a 15.6% increase for the 2080 Ti, compared to the 1080 Ti. This is why we weren’t shown any meaningful benchmarks during the announcement.
