They’re not going to take any hit on this financially. They’ll get refunds through their distribution channels. They have fairly strict purchasing agreements with their vendors, to protect themselves in situations like this.
I don’t get it. Why are these only being manufactured by no-name companies who have no idea what they’re doing? This is a fun concept, which people are obviously interested in. Why isn’t an experienced and well known manufacturer making these, using higher quality parts which won’t burst in to flames?
Delaying to December is generally not a surprising move. What is surprising is that this puts them up against Avatar 2. That’s a weird fight to throw themselves in to. They’d end up on only half the number of screens as they did this past holiday season.
WTF? Was that actually posted? I really hope someone gets fired for that!
What the hell is wrong with you?
The video has been made private. Might not have been meant for general release.
I get all my Hot Toys figures from Hong Kong. I used to live there and know the staff at Secret Base. I have figures on order with them, which I then have shipped to me. It turns out my order got lost in the shuffle, which explains why I hadn’t received it yet.
Wave your broom all you want, but I’m not leaving. I’m having an AWESOME time here.
Go back to bed grandpa. Nothing to see here.
I’m actually fairly familiar with Timewarp. I’ve been developing with it for quite some time now. It’s is absolutely not reliant on minimal resources. You can obtain a performance increase as high as 50% by disabling it in your project. Just because you might have read something on the internet doesn’t mean you know…
LOL. You go run a Rift on an older system and tell me how that works out for you. As an owner of both the Rift DK1 and DK2, I can tell you that your hypothesis is wrong and continuing to repeat it doesn’t make it any more true.
Yes, it does require constant 90fps. Not rendering at that frame rate will cause lag and jitter.
It’s actually 4 times, since additional frames are rendered for timewarp.
Are you serious? The Rift needs a PC that can render 4 1080x1200 screens (2 for immediate display and 2 for time warp) at 90fps. Show me a 4 year old PC that can do this.
What? Some of us actually do a substantial amount of work on our local networks. It’s highly beneficial to have fast wireless speeds, rather than having to wire in every time to need a fast connection. I use AC and it's still slower to do large file actions to/from my NAS than a wired connection. I'd definitely…
This is just click-bait reporting.
It's more for local network utilization than Internet use.
If you wanted to know the answer, why didn’t you just watch the video? It’s answered 10 seconds in.
There’s absolutely nothing sweet about this.
