I started out writing a comment about how I actually didn't mind Joffrey's scene specifically because it was disturbing to find out that the only thing he gets off on is pain. Then I started thinking more about it and I realized the audience really didn't need that scene to know that he is thoroughly awful.

I was bummed to not see any Kate Bush on the 100 Best Sci-fi albums list. I feel like the entirety of the Dreaming if not the Red Shoes would have worked.

I am very very excited for this album; I've been finding her songs piecemeal online for awhile. The video for the Fox is pretty great too.

I don't know the reference but my kneejerk response is The night is dark and full of terrors.

Karen Zerby who leads the Children of God (River Phoenix grew up in this cult) and Anne Hamilton-Byrne who ran The Family which Julian Assange's family was involved with are the two current groups I could think of.

I keep waiting for something to happen regarding the blatant character piracy; I know Stephanie Meyers must have some strong feelings on this malarkey.

It would be a hilarious and very meta coup if they could get Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to star in this.

That quote made me remember the first time I slept with one of my ex-girlfriends. She was wearing a LB shirt that I own on our date; when we got to her apartment, I saw my Old Navy belt hanging in her closet. When we lost our shirts, we both had on the same bra (pattern and color but different size) from LB.

I hate to defend shitty clothing designers for even a second but, I think it's harder to find plus size fit models that realistically reflect fat bodies. People to appropriate a quote from a friend of mine "wear their fat differently."

Y'all are lucky so and so's if you can find decent plus size clothes when thrifting. If the stores I go to even bother to sort by size, I must be some mythical size that never existed in the 60's/70's.

I keep avoiding these spoilers even though I've read all the books. I want to experience the nuances of the episodes without any kind of "I just read on io9 this happens." And like a lot of people who've read the books I read them all back to back to back and I can't remember what happens to who in which volume.

*rimshot* I think you and I should write an exquisite corpse sometime.

Chelsea Peretti has a good riff on this: [iraffiruse.net] (the text on the image is NSFW so I'm linking out.)

I will fully cop to this behavior and confess to you all that up until a year ago, I hated Joss Whedon. Hated. This was due entirely to over-jealous fans who talked up Buffy, Firefly, and most especially Dr. Horrible until I wanted to scream. I knew at the time that my dislike was purely subjective but after the

"Concern-trolling" is my new favorite term for being condescended to by strangers on the internet.

The original manuscript "Master of the Universe" is available pretty widely online. I read the first 30ish pages switching between page 1 on the Amazon preview and then page 2 on the fanfic and honestly, the only difference is that all the names are changed and there are occasionally different overwrought adverbs.

I second that emotion.

I know her as well from [redacted]; she's whip-smart and gives really good hugs.
